Description In the far future, technological advances have brought humanity to new heights, at the foremost of these advances is a new energy source, powerful enough to meet the needs of all of earths cybernetic technologies, known as the Cyber Core. Although the Cyber Core has been the key to human advancement, it also attracts the envious gaze of the Makai, alien invaders who wish to use it's tremendous power as a weapon for conquest. The Global Guardian association took to the task of creating an elite force of mighty defenders to keep the Core out of the wrong hands. Headed by Dr. Kurt Vincent, the scientific team was able to develop the mighty Cyber Suit, but not without difficulty. The energy required to sustain the suit could not be achieved via standalone power source, and could only be sustained by a combination of a remote power link to the Cyber Core and the users life-force. Field tests also revealed that users became overwhelmed from exposure to core energy, and as a result could only be maintained by those with a higher metabolism. As a last resort, it was decided that the suits needed to be used by teenagers. After a lengthy recruitment process, several years of training, and a vow to secrecy, the Cyber Force Rangers were born.

Cyber Red - Nathan Hanson - Leader of the rangers, a senior at Arc-City High, and a well-trained martial artist. Despite being eager to be accepted into the elite ranger recruitment program at a young age, Nathan often ponders if it was truly ethical to indoctrinate children at such a young age to form a fighting force. He also struggles with the weight of knowing that as his body matures, he will no longer be able to sustain the ranger transformation, and will have to be replace by another generation of indoctrinated children. Towards the end of the series, he saves a young boy from near death and returns him to his family, and deeming his a fight worth fighting, has a change of heart. Despite the weight on his shoulders, Nathan keeps a level head during combat and makes the tough calls when needed.

Cyber Blue - Millie Larking - A junior at Arc-City High, talented at sports but due to her secret ranger life is unable to compete. She struggles with balancing her normal life with her ranger life, leaving her frustrated and disoriented in her everyday interactions, feeling as though her circumstances around her are a result of an unknown force working against her. Despite this, she gives her best effort into being a ranger, fighting in the hope that one day she will no longer need to fight and can return to normal life.

Cyber Green - Eli Faun - A junior at Arc-City high, aspires to be a Paramedic. At the core of his person Eli wishes only to help people, and struggles with being a ranger and being aware of all the pain and suffering brought on the city and it's people by the rangers' clashes with evil and the collateral damage caused by their epic battles. On the field, he is always reliable and can be counted on to lend a hand when help is needed.

Cyber Violet - Lena Chen - A senior at Arc-City High, talented academic, aspiring artist, on track to graduating valedictorian. A genuinely friendly and social person, she is unable to spend time with her friends due to her ranger life. Though her friends give her a hard time, they are still understanding. Others treat her as an outcast and accuse her of being two-faced for sneaking around and weaseling out of social events. This has lead to many rumors about Lena, some believing that she is cheating her way through high school, others believing that she is passing of somebody else's artwork as her own. This has led her to feel that none of her accomplishments will never be good enough as she will be suspected of cheated regardless. Despite this Lena is an outstanding ranger, though she sometimes over performs to compensate for her insecurities.

Cyber Black - Andrew 'Drew' May - A sophomore at Arc-City High, youngest of the team and enjoys skating and video games. Drew has a carefree attitude and and presents a thick-skinned, cocky persona. Drew tends to enjoy being a ranger more than his team mates, presenting the same person in battle as he does in his normal life, as he finds his identity in being a ranger. Drew goes through an identity crisis once Nathan realizes and explains that they will not always be rangers. Towards the end of the series Drew realizes that his identity is not in the suit he wears, but what he does with and without his suit that defines him.

Cyber Silver - Lloyd Vincent - A junior in the Global Guardian In-House School System, Lloyd follows in his fathers footsteps, aspiring to create improved ranger suits, not just for defending the Cyber Core but for everyday jobs, such as fire men, police, Construction workers, and rescue workers, etc. After finding a way to create a more efficient Cyber Badge (the device on each ranger's chest that initiates the morph sequence) using rare materials, Dr. Vincent creates a new ranger suit, twice as powerful as any of the other five ranger suits, and bestows it to his son, Lloyd to aid the other five Cyber Rangers. Though Lloyd would rather spend time coming up with ideas for every day ranger suits, he takes pride in defending the Cyber Core as a ranger. In addition, Lloyd is instrumental in helping the other rangers through their difficulties.

Cyber Shadow* - S - A living assistance android kidnapped by the Makai and brainwashed into becoming an instrument of evil for the Makai's fiendish plans. The Makai use their own unstable incomplete copy of the Cyber Core, called the Neo Core, to Create and Power the Neo Badge for the android to use. After combating the Cyber Rangers several times, struggling with the remnants of his past life and innate desire to help those in need, and nearly facing a fatal melt-down due to the Neo Badge's unstable nature, the android is saved by the rangers by linking the Neo Badge to the Cyber Core, stabilizing it's energy output. The nameless android decides to join the rangers and is affectionately named S in reference to his status as the Shadow Ranger. S makes it a point to avoid causing collateral damage to civilians and surrounding structures when possible and proves himself to be a reliable and trustworthy ranger.

*The above picture depicts two similar looking Cyber Shadow Rangers. It should be noted that theses are merely two appearances of the same ranger. The red-visored ranger depicts S's morphed appearance while fighting for the Makai and powered by the Neo Core, while the yellow-visored ranger depicts S's morphed appearance while fighting alongside the other Cyber Rangers and powered by the Cyber Core.
