Cutie Mark: A dark storm cloud with a twirling ribbon-like bolt coming out

Talent: Ability to carry/be in thunderclouds for long periods of time without getting electrocuted

Personality:

Twirling Bolt is normally SHY, but can warm up to a pony and turn out to be SECRETLY REALLY TALKATIVE BUT AT THE SAME TIME QUIET. She’s normally ANTISOCIAL because not many ponies like the same things as she does, making her a bit of an ODDBALL by society standards. She talks more to OTHER ODDBALLS than to popular or seemingly popular ponies, but she DOESN’T GIVE A FLYING FEATHER about what they think.

Family:

Father, Mother, two uncles and aunts

Backstory:

Twirling Bolt was born in Cloudsdale to a former weather pony mare and stallion. Because of her looks, the first word that came to mind to her mom was ‘Twirling’ and to her dad, ‘Bolt’. So they decided to give her a two-parted name consisting of both suggestions: ‘Twirling Bolt’.

Her fillyhood wasn’t as interesting as you may think, besides getting her cutie mark. Her parents loved each other and her greatly, and even though they yelled a bit when something such as taxes or bad grades came up, the small family was happy.

It was apparent when flightschool happened, Twirling Bolt wasn’t as social as her parents hoped. She talked to other ponies, but never made many friends because of her tastes in music and other filly things that seemed to matter.

During the summer, when visiting her aunt and uncle in Manehatten, she came across another pegasi unlike she had seen before. This filly had dark green eyes, silver mane and tail, and a grey-brown pelt. Even odder, she spoke in almost a slang. Twirling eventually learned the name of the filly was Rushing Leaves, and they began hanging out in the afternoons while their families were out. They were friends, although the reason why had slipped both of their minds by the second day they knew each other.

Sadly, Twirling Bolt had to leave to go back home. But Rushing Leaves made a promise to write so they could be pen-ponies.

Once school started, Twirling began talking to some of the other fillies and colts that seemed like Rushing Leaves. This is how she made friends: Finding the misfits like her, and talking to them. Eventually they all started a group circle of pen-pony notes, writing to Rushing Leaves and her friends in Manehatten.

Soon she finished flight school with her friends, and they separated ways to follow their cutie marks. But because of the pen-pony system, they keep in touch,

Cutie Mark story:

Twirling Bolt once went on a field trip with fightschool to a weather factory, a yearly trip. An older pony suggested when a majority of fillies and colts finished lunch that they play hide and seek. The teacher was distracted with a sick student, the tour guide on his own lunch break, leaving the group alone. Twirling agreed with this idea, and remembered how the tour guide said earlier that many ponies could get shocked by a thundercloud if not careful. She found a storage unit of them, empty of other ponies. She climbed into the clouds and enjoyed the static tickle, and also the fluffiness. After a long period of time, she decided to go and explore to see where the other fillies were and why they hadn’t found her yet. Just in case, she took a spare thundercloud and road on it around the storage unit. When nopony was found, and hopped off the cloud and left.

Her teacher eventually found her, giving her a lecture on not running off and how you shouldn’t listen to older colts because they often mean trouble, and how to properly play hide-and-seek at school, before she paused. She quietly asked where Twirling Bolt was, and Twirling Bolt told her exactly where she had been. The tour guide paused and explained to both the teacher and her that ‘storage unit’ wasn’t actually stored storm clouds, but clouds that were so filled with lightning that they needed to be separated until the excess could be removed. They then both turned to Twirling Bolt in amazement at how she survived high shockage, and pointed out her cutie mark!

Of course Twirling Bolt had to be written up for the ‘accident’, but none of the ponies involved, including her parents, got mad. If she hadn’t done that, she wouldn’t have gotten her cutie mark!
