Description I am so excited about this picture, you cannot even believe my levels of glee!
This is for a contest by *vert-is-ninja that I just happened to stumble upon 2 days before the deadline. It was fate, I say.
The contest was about illustrating a song title that she gave you. There was like four or five choices and they all gave me quite the headache hunting down on Limewire, but it was all worth it. The only one that gave me any right away inspiration was Better than Ezra's Sincerely Me and I eagerly began to draw what turned out to be this. I must admit, it was a stretch, since none of the music was really my cup of tea, and I rarely draw sci fi things like this. But I like challenges and I like change, so this was actually really fun to do. The concept of this is basically just some girl reading a letter that this dude (in the song I'm pretty much going to assume it's her boyfriend) wrote her about how much he misses her and how it was before she left. I decided to take the idea to another level.. space! I wanted it to be different, and I needed it to stand out against the competition. There were some good ones, but I'm not sure if anyone has done this song yet. A lot of them did the B-52's "She brakes for Rainbows" and I think that I couldn't handle that song without heavy medication.
Oh, And! And! This is the longest I've spent on a drawing in months! I am SO glad to be out of the rut, FINALLY! I thought that I was never going to draw good again........

P.S! FULLVIEW!!!!
P.P.S! A few minor edits have occured on the moon's surface and Jupiter and the space girl's boots. Looks a lot better.

I know that feeling you get when you hear a song. For me, it was "Drops of Jupiter" by Train. Awesomeness. I haven't seen much of them anymore.

But I really like this piece.

Oh, and is it Europa or Io?

Cause Europa has like, an ocean underneath a crust of ice.... and maybe freaking mammals swimming in it. Very romantic.

Io... looks more like Io outwardly. Volcanoes and the like.XD

HAH! SPACE. Now the song seems a whole lot more fun to listen to.

This would make perfect album cover art!

Oh wow! This is so pretty and amazing! I love the style you used and the way you interpreted the song! I love how you took it into outerspace - it really adds a whole lot and her eyes are fantastic. I know somebody already mentioned it once before and thanks so much for entering! I'm sorry none of the songs were you cup o' tea but at least it was a challenge! I love the style, it's amazing, and you should be proud of it!

Wow! This is really nicely done, Trina.
I love the little asteriods and such floting around.

And her facial expression makes me smile. <3
I love her eyes.

Good luck!
