  “Woah,” AJ’s chin was fixed pointing skywards. “I’ve never seen so many stars. Or real stars to begin with.”
  “What’s it like to never see the stars even though you’re outside?”
  “I’ve never known anything else, really. It feels vast.”
  Liorou noticed the glances AJ was casting at the spirits. “No need to be scared of them. They’re mostly harmless.”
  “I’m not scared,” AJ could not decide whether to direct their eyes at the sky or the flocking spirits. “Just a little overwhelmed. It’s not everyday I get to see things like this.”
  “I think this one likes you.” Liorou pointed out a small blue ball of spirit energy dancing around their feet.
  “How can you tell? It’s not like they’re talking.”
  Liorou played a few wistful notes on his flute. Some of the spirits, including the blue one, scurried away. “They are drawn to the sense of loneliness. Whatever they find, they amplify it to ease their own. I’d have them go feed elsewhere.”
  “Huh.” AJ raised an eyebrow. “You know, you’re not very preachy for a priest. Most of the ones I know would have used the opportunity to talk your ear off.”
  Liorou stretched out his legs. “Maybe they think if you throw enough words at people you will change their hearts. But faith is a personal matter. Why would I bore you with that on my evening off?” He grinned at them, “Do you want to be preached at?”
  “Heck no,” AJ laughed. “I’d rather keep my ear safe, thank you very much. ”
  “I don’t know the people you’re talking about, but they probably work with the tools that are at their disposal. I’ve got it easy.” Liorou smiled. “I only need my flute.”

Liorou's Enjoyment task for OC-training . I had the pleasure to team up with the awesome Captain-Kiryu and AJ (they/them) for this task!

Among Liorou's favourite pastimes is taking walks in nature and having one-on-one conversations about life and stuff. He also likes to play flute, and often comes up with little soothing melodies based off lullabies his mother sang him. It's not just for show either. His bone flute is imbued with magic that helps manipulate core energy from spirits. It can ward off the negative, bitter ones and attract nice ones. The spirits are not as powerful in the world of the living - they're mostly just remains of what's left of a soul that's moved on. Mistwalkers are a bit of a magnet for lingering spirits, which is why Liorou tends to carry around his flute.
The waterfall is not very far from the settlement where Liorou lives and it's his favourite spot in Duine Vale. The running water helps him gather his thoughts and recharge social energy. On occasions, he likes company there. Since AJ knows no peace nor chill, they got roped into a relaxing trek to do literally nothing and just hang out. (They both better savor the moment before it's AJ's turn to entertain since Liorou is in for some extreme experiences. )
