I really need to visit Chicago again sometime in the future, I bet the U-505 is even more impressive lit up like this. Definitely a awesome city, just run by the mob as I often say. XD

If you ever get the chance, go there! They have cut two holes in the side of the boat where you can enter to have a quick tour of the inside, whoever they do not allow photos and will take your camera, so watch out. They also have an amazing display about the battle of the Atlantic when you walk in, so you already know the story before you enter. They also have many other preserved pieces, including deck guns, AA guns, periscopes and many other pieces from other subs. All in all the museum is top-notch, and well worth the visit.

Man, it's all because some people can't understand the right way of talking pictures of artifacts and just outright ban 'em. I wonder If I told then I volunteer in a Military Museums in my local city and know the right procedures for taking photos with my professional camera if they let me .... wishful thinking. But what I wouldn't give to get some reference photos for my personal archive!

You never know, it could work, stranger things have happened, all you need to do is find the right person and talk with them for a while, get to know them, and the museum will open up for you.
