b. Labourer: Labourers carry out physical tasks to supplement the work of the slaves. They often work amongst the slaves and carry out the heavy work the slaves can't do.
In some colonies labourers have social standing higher than the slaves due to simply being zyn. However, because even slaves give instructions to labourers (since slaves tend to be the ones who understand technology), in some colonies labourers have sunk below slaves in social standing and are treated rather poorly.
Some speculate that the labourer caste is a diverse caste, largely owing to some hybridisation with the adaptives some time in the recent past. This may account for labourers being more intellectually valuable in some colonies due to more diverse skills, while in other colonies they lack the intelligence for more than grunt work.
Labourers have a versatile build, strong but not as strong as the warrior, agile but not as agile as the coordinator.
