how long did it take you to form a swatch palette for your PS? every time I go to make one, i just feel like killing my self :I so i just go with the lazy method by slapping a palette on a dif layer and having all my colours in the top left corner

I'm really not sure how much time it took you to make this, but you still took the time to help others.

I just want to thank you for making this! I've had both Illustrator and Photoshop for some time now, and I never really knew how to use them both together 'professionally'. This is has been a great help and inspiration that I've continued on projects I have abandoned.

I just have a question though. Is there any way to export the Illustrator file to Photoshop with the crisp, smooth lines without creating such a huge file? Because when I move the file, at 100% zoom, an eye can fill up the whole frickin' screen.

How do you make a white border around it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

spicysteweddemon In reply to Locomatic [2013-06-17 20:47:34 +0000 UTC]

Just traced around it with a thick round brush on the layer above background.

Excuse me. If I may ask, what is Illustrator CS3? Does it work good?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

spicysteweddemon In reply to GabiSaKuRa [2013-06-17 20:49:04 +0000 UTC]

It is a vector program using bevels to create images. You don't need it, u can skip steps 4-7 if you don't have it

GabiSaKuRa In reply to spicysteweddemon [2013-06-17 21:22:24 +0000 UTC]

Well, the thing is that I have an art program called "Manga Studio X4" & it's soooooo complicated. It drove me insane! D:

I've heard of it but never used it...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GabiSaKuRa In reply to spicysteweddemon [2013-06-18 02:26:13 +0000 UTC]

Don't use it. It is the hardest thing to use, ever!

Clock--Heart In reply to GabiSaKuRa [2013-06-17 20:18:26 +0000 UTC]

Illustrator is another Adobe program, it's like Photoshop, but minus the photo editing software, it's purely used for digital art. I like to use it sometimes for line art, but outside of that I don't particularly like it. Check it out your self and see if you like it.

Clock--Heart In reply to GabiSaKuRa [2013-06-17 21:25:00 +0000 UTC]

No, it isn't. There's a free trial, though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Clock--Heart In reply to GabiSaKuRa [2013-06-17 22:50:35 +0000 UTC]

Well, you could of used Google to get the answer, but it's roughly $300.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GabiSaKuRa In reply to Clock--Heart [2013-06-18 02:26:43 +0000 UTC]

$300?? OMG!!! D8

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Clock--Heart In reply to GabiSaKuRa [2013-06-18 02:39:16 +0000 UTC]

Haha, I know. Most Adobe products are expensive, but it's cheaper than Photoshop!

I prefer Paint Tool SAI over Illustrator for sure, it was easier on my wallet.

GabiSaKuRa In reply to Clock--Heart [2013-06-18 02:43:29 +0000 UTC]

I know, I want to try that out as well. how much is that now?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Clock--Heart In reply to GabiSaKuRa [2013-06-18 03:09:51 +0000 UTC]

There's a few sites where you can download it for free, but if you feel bad about not paying for it, I think it goes for $54. If you want something completely free, you can try GIMP.

That was super helpful! I've never taken a Photoshop class before, so all I know I've learned on my own or from online tutorials I'd never known about clipping masks, I'll definitely try 'em out when next I go to color something digitally! And also the gradient tool...man, I have a LOT to learn!

Also that's an adorable Cloud you just made, there
