Description
"Their first mistake was coming here. Their second was splitting up. They believe their speed, their stealth would be enough to shroud them as they searched for us, and the nature of our activities. But it is very easy to become lost in these growths; especially when all this time, they were the ones being watched."Well this Halloween sucked more than the last few (personally), and yet in El Paso at least it followed snow! Actual snow! And a pretty dope-ass full moon too.
I don't know how other cities are handling certain going-ons pertaining to the celebration of today, but whether you're trapped inside with crying candy-crazed children, huddled on a couch watching a classic, or holding a zoom meeting with friends costumed to watch the new Mandalorian episode (no spoilers plox), I hope you had as spooky a Halloween as you desired.
Now as to the painting, I'm still continuing my 40k fanon stuff. Anyone following my wiki stuff, you'd be happy to know (I hope) that I've made an article on a fan Imperial Guard regiment for Tezarda IV- wh40khomebrew.fandom.com/wiki/…
It's a work in progress, but quite a bit of fun to come up with their stuff. It follows most of what I've already written on their planet anyways, but it also has some more lore, as well as a whole heap of boring stuff like... troop structure and... diplomacy... Not everyone's cup of tea, I understand. But all that there is to know for this is that the main figure is a biker-scout, seemingly lost from her squad on an alien world.
I still have yet to write anything for some of the other planets prior mentioned in my other articles, like one that would explain the nature of the figure in the background, but whatever. I think I won't say anything to what it is as for now anyways, just to keep some mystery in the painting...
I did this mainly as coloring and lighting practice. I wanted to do a Chiaroscuro, but don't know if I'm too happy with it. Since I just don't color normally, I don't know if the lighted area is too saturated, if the dark areas aren't dark enough; and looking back, the lighting for some of the background elements could probably be rendered better.
I also normally don't do horror as a subject, but I couldn't resist for the holiday.
But I don't know; thoughts?
Edit: Damn, I forget how DA can really compress an image quality- is that just with me? Well this has a better quality upload, I think. static.wikia.nocookie.net/wh40…
