Description In this version, Morris Bench was once an expelled student, for setting a muslim kid on fire because, Morris was Racist. But, he was given the option to get out of prison, if he joined the Navy and he immediately signed up for the Navy. He was met with Commander Rourke Watson (Spider-Slayer), and he likes that he heard that he set a muslim kid on fire and wanted him to meet his daughter, Mary Jane and be her boyfriend. Morris meets her, but she hated him because he would try to force himself on her and she dumped him and Rourke was angry. Many years later, he was working with the crew with lifting a new experimental Power Generator that would use water as an energy source, which used a strange chemical. But, Morris was knocked overboard and was caught inside the generator, where the strange chemical poured all over his body. He was also struck by the power of the generator as well and that altered his cellular structure so much, that is allowed him to control any liquid at will and turn into water. He was washed up on the beach and was unable to control his water form.

He was found by The Tinkerer, and he decided to help him out, as long as he works for him, which Morris agreed. He was given a new suit that would help him keep his human shape. His suit also has special retractable metal gauntlets, boots, belt and collar for him to use his water for fighting and travel by water to go very fast. He can adjust the pressures strong enough to cut metal, adjust the density in various parts off his body, so his fist could hit somebody, while the rest of him is still fluid. Morris learned however, that he cannot go through vents, his overall shape has to be consistent and that he needs to absorb a lot of water to relish himself and he has to conserve it, or else he could take parts of himself and lose his body parts. Morris is also weakened by dirt and sand, when thrown at him, because, it would make his water too hard to move and add pain to him. Fire and Winter can hurt him too.

Morris went off to go off and rob places, but he was found by Spider-Man (Peter Parker), but Morris was cocky, however, Morris won the fight and ran off. He saw a picture of Mary Jane Watson, modelling for Beachware and sunblock, which made Morris decide to kidnap her for his pleasure and his revenge for what happened to him, when not letting himself on her. He finally meets her again, but Mary Jane ain't no damsel in distress, she was able to throw dirt in his eyes and it affected him badly, since he is water. She was found by Spidey and they teamed up to defeat him, by making him run out of water by wasting it all. He was tempted to use more water, but he didn't want to lose his body parts, so he gave up. He vowed revenge against Mary Jane and Spider-Man, and that he'll drown them both.

He would be able to fight Spidey from time to time. He even teamed up with Sandman (Flint Marko) to take down Spidey, but Hydro-Man wanted to kill Spidey and Sandman didn't want to kill him. So, Sandman gets his redemption started by taking down Morris, by sacrificing his sand to hurt Hydro-Man with since, he can't handle dirt in his water. Hydro-Man would eventually be killed by Kaine and Spidercide. Spidercide and Kaine would be able to trap him in a burning building, which started to evaporate him at excruciating pain.

Hydro-Man is modelled after the 90's version and has the suit based on the suit he had in the comics and Spectacular Spider-Man series that would have happened. In this version, he is a racist a-hole, because, it would be something that Spider-Man would face an enemy who doesn't had a redeeming quality or can be saved. Hydro-Man would be one of the Spider-Man villains who can never be redeemed or saved.
