Description
It is a predator's wisdom that one must never become haughty or feel superior by virtue of being born with fangs and a weak gut--for those who understand life's gentle interdependence it is impossible to look in the face of a prey animal and not think "I owe all of my existence to their existence."^w^ Bit of a rag on the human trend in critter-based fiction to make the carnivores these self-supremacist douchebags and the herbivores these dispensable mooks (or the heros who ultimately frack up the ecology of the area as a "victory"). I mean, come on--you'd think someone living in that system would start to understand it, and not take the sacred lives of those in their ecological webs so lightly. I mean, without them you'd die... so it kinda pays to respect them and be on their side if anything threatened their very existence.
To illustrate this point, here is a Fringe-lipped bat flying and surrounded by images of various prey species for them.
