I debated toning it down, I really did..

But the page begged. It begged for more gruesome, and I found myself adding more to it.

And then some more on top of that.
I’m happy with it, but it’s definitely the most blood I’ve ever put on something

The meganus are certainly not nice...
They still eat Kamen often enough, but not as ravenously as when they first arrived.

Understandable.
I had to guess, Kamen appears to Meganus, Meganus thought Kamen as lower being like an animal and they hunt them down like prey. They didn't think Kamen as intelligent before Meganus realized what they are. At least I guess?

I think it's more like the Meganus are large predators. They dont really stop and think about whether the thing they are eating is a person or not.. like a shark or a tiger.
Most meganus move entirely on instincts. Females are the only ones that "think" the way we do, and even then, only partially.
