Description
Since I was a bit bored, I decided to unveil my take on the famous steam team for my series. Like the television series, they'll be some of the main characters of "The Tales of the Sudrian Railways." Unlike the television series, the series will still try to focus a lot on the lesser-known characters (Such as BoCo, Derek, Arthur, etc.).The 12 Famous Engines are as follows:
- #1: "Thomas": Thomas can be described as a cheeky, fussy little engine. He often gets into scrapes, usually by being over-eager to do things best left to bigger and more sensible engines. But clouds never last long in Thomas' life, and he's soon bustling about again, playing his part in the yard and on his very own branch line, of which he is extremely proud.
- #2: "Edward": Edward is an older engine, but the most important thing about him is that he is kind. When the other engines misbehave, it is Edward that Sir Topham Hatt turns to calm everyone down and restore order.
- #3: "Henry": Henry is a long, fast engine. He has a thoroughbred look and, like all thoroughbreds, tends to be somewhat highly strung and prone to illness. But he has a new shape now and is sympathetically driven; he will give any engine a run for its money.
- #4: "Gordon": Gordon is the senior member of the engine family, the fastest and most powerful of Sir Topham Hatt's string--and he knows it. He is goodhearted, though, and always willing to forgive and use his superior strength to help smaller engines out of trouble.
- #5: "James": James is a medium-sized engine. His six driving wheels are not as big as Gordon's and not as small as Thomas'. He has a fine scarlet coat and brass dome and likes to think of himself as a Really Splendid Engine. This can occasionally lead to high-falutin' ideas about the sort of work suitable for such a noble creature: invariably, they land James in trouble.
- #6: "Percival/Percy": Percy is the junior member of the principal team of engines. He is a happy little chap who is normally quite happy puffing around the yard and is always keen to oblige, the fact of which the other engines are determined to take advantage.
- #7: "Tobias/Toby": Toby is old-fashioned, both in looks and outlook. Every engine, no matter how old, wants to be Really Useful, and having once nearly been scrapped, Toby is always happy to work. He is not above being temperamental sometimes, but since he works mainly up an outlying quarry line, he can work off his moods without causing grief to anyone except his own faithful coach Henrietta.
- #8: "Montague/Duck": Duck is a cheerful and busy engine. He is only a small tank engine, but coming as he does from the Great Western Railway, he will stand no nonsense whatsoever from the larger engines who try to order him about.
- #9 & 10: "Donald and Douglas": Other than their nameplates and numbers, Donald and his brother Douglas are twins. Donald does not like to be parted from his brother and loves to play practical jokes on the other engines. Douglas, along with his twin brother Donald, loves playing jokes on the other engines. His antics usually lead to trouble, but he is a hard worker and is especially good at plowing snow.
- #11: "Oliver": Oliver and his brake van Toad were saved from scrap by Douglas and are very grateful to him. Oliver had a new coat of paint, of which he is very proud and now works happily on Duck's branch line.
- #12: "Emily": Emily is a beautiful engine with shiny paintwork and gleaming brass fittings. After she rescued Toby and Henrietta when they were stuck on the tracks, she was rewarded with a brand new pair of coaches.
On a side note, I was originally going to include Nia and Rebecca (And still keep Henry and Edward in), but I decided to keep it to engines 1-12.
