Nice Lex! Though I prefer the brilliant-but-arrogant scientist who opposes Superman because he genuinely believes him to be a threat to the human race.

Thanks. Here Lex is a brilliant-but-arrogant scientist that has built an empire out of his own work (stepping on other people). He sees Superman not only as a threat to humanity (Superman is the 1st superpowered vigilante, "metahuman" in the world in this version), but more importantly to business as a whole. That's why he started of to remove Superman and all other metahumans of the planet. Eventually things become personal.
