Hussie said a while back that the kids don't have any skin/hair colors other than black and white. Bluh bluh stylistic choice bluh bluh, there's a lot more to it but it pretty much means Dave and Rose both canonically have white hair.
Of course artistic license trumps all, I just like throwing around some faux-rage whenever someone makes the Stridester blonde.
