Description A strange situation on my nature walk today...apparently , this guy jumped just right to get his foot through a tiny loop in the fence wire. From the looks of it he had been there quite a while. Although he was quite releived when I walked back to the house and got the wire cutters. After I cut him loose , he wasn't violent or anything. I squatted down and pet him and tried to give him some water , he was just so scared.
Something out-of-the-ordinary today , thought I would share with you all....

I'm glad he didn't bite you, I've worked with wildlife before and though my friend who works with wolves said that canids are generally reluctant to bite, I'd still be cautious.

However, it takes some courage to actually act, and it is good to see someone doing it. Thank you.

Sadly, it's not uncommon for bigger yotes like this guy to get snagged by a fence. It's a good thing you got him free, and you're VERY lucky he didn't bite you. Despite what many people would like to believe, animals don't always understand that you're trying to help them, and in situations like this when they're in a lot of stress and can't move, the proababilty of you getting attacked goes through the roof. This guy looks just downright exhausted.

This equals HIGHLY cool. That would be like... the highlight of my existence. To meet a WILD one? And have it remain wild after I'd gone? Yes, please.
