Set in late spring of last year, after Macabre and Varekai's unexpected attempt to ascend Remiel, Balthazar is restless. He wonders what it is that compels the fallen to march towards the summit, and he restlessly anticipates the next toll as summer draws closer... but instead of a dead wolf walking, it's Beck who appears at the foot of the temple.
