December's community challenge theme is MAGIC. There is no denying now that magic has returned to Almos, and after witnessing so many strange phenomena over the last two years, has your wolf developed a new opinion of the forces awakened by the Kol? What do they think of the visions they’ve seen? Do they despise magic, or see it as something of a marvel? Have they seen someone use magic firsthand? Do they want it for themselves?

[Adel MCC Description]

Magic was once what bound them together, seven friends who were just young and reckless enough to want to be something more than they were. Adel felt like he could take on anything with all of his friends at his side, and that didn't change when they fell in with Malaysia and her growing following within the United Pack. The red wolf's promises of power and glory appealed to the band of young wolves, and Adel - being raised on tales of myth and magic long before he even heard of Malaysia - was all too eager to throw himself headfirst into that future. He wanted magic, not just for himself, but for all his friends too; it wouldn't be right unless they all got to be gods together.

But that's not how the story went. When it came time to seize the day, Adel faltered, and his friends all left without him. Even Esban did. Everything fell apart and he didn't know what to do - when his magic started to manifest, all he could feel was fear and guilt, the desire he once had turning to sour dread at the thought of anyone finding out about the Rot. Over the last two years spent in hiding, confronted with visions and spirits and secrets, Adel's opinion of magic has become... complicated. He still feels guilty for abandoning his friends and their shared dreams at the coast, and even guiltier that he was the one granted magic in the end. He doesn't think he deserves it, but he's resolved to use it for the benefit of the friends he still has - Menulis, Oscar, and now Yetta, too - because at the end of the day, his friends will always be what matter most to him, and he's determined not to hurt them again.

[AC Description for Adel and Oscar]

Years have passed since their group of friends was divided, and so many things have changed since then. They used to all be so close, but now it felt almost like they were strangers, after being apart for so long. Adel can't look Oscar in the eye - not that the scarred wolf gave him the chance - and he's grateful to have Nuli still with him, but even she seemed different, especially after what happened at the ruins. The dark wolf still refuses to believe that encounter with Sascha was anything but a bad dream, unable to accept that one of his closest friends has died. He hasn't told Oscar about it, and Oscar didn't ask. He seems to go out of his way to avoid speaking to Adel more than he absolutely has to, and it stings.

He wishes that they could just go back to how things used to be, but the longer the silence drags on... the less Adel is hopeful that that wish can come true.

Goddd writing the descriptions was absurdly hard and I'm not sure they 100% work right but THATS OK I'm rolling with it x'D this piece was so fun and really just a perfect opportunity to draw all of the friend gang together for last month's mcc, I'm hella pleased with how it turned out! Can cross doing a big group photo off my bucket list now lmao
