nope, pure digital glory.

yes, its quite contrasty, but i think it wouldn't work without the contrast, don't you?

Wow, nice

Hmmm, not sure. It might work, but still, this does add a bit of drama to the look so it's probably better.

Wonderful capture; it almost looks like a painting and the colours are lovely. The only thing that is a bit distracting in my eyes is the green-blue-ish line in the middle (part of the fence, I suppose?) as it doesn't fit in the overall colour sheme at all. On the one hand, I understand why you wanted to keep the tree on the left, on the other hand, I think cropping it would look nice, too, especially if you keep just the cheetah's face and the light part behind it as this is what gives the photo that nice, dreamy look. But that's just a suggestion Well done otherwise!

thanks, very much.

Yes, the dark part is part of the fence, no way to remove it without serious manipulation

Amazing capture.

I really like the depth of field and how the background is so blurry that the cheetah stands out so much as a result of that. The tone is quite warm.. which helps us engage, although the contrast is quite strong, so it feels pretty harsh and immediate, in some ways... if that makes sense?

The framing isn't too bad, although I do feel it's a small shame you haven't captured more. It also feels a bit too post-processed, but that might just be me.

Would be interesting as a square, I suppose... I can understand why you would want to keep the tree within the frame, but a square crop would probably make it more balanced?

spoilerhead In reply to 3wyl [2010-11-18 08:39:20 +0000 UTC]

thanks for the comment.

about the "a bit too processed" part: i was intentionally aiming for that look, to not make it "yeat an other cheeta shot"

you're probably right with the square crop, but i kinda liked how the tree gives some tension to the image.
what i really regret is not having a second shot but moments after this picture the cheets layed down

and i'd really wish i'd had the money for a supertele and a trip to africa to see them in the wild.
