--things are getting a bit slushy right now - it's recommended that you stay off of the ice on the ponds and rivers.
For conservation efforts, we have to limit the amount of people that are in the Springs area at any one given time. If there is a slot below that is empty, you are welcome to begin an exploration. If there is not, you must wait until someone else is finished. There is no waitlist; forms posted when slots are full will be disregarded and hidden.
You may not hold more than one slot at the same time.
You must wait 24 hours after the completion of your previous exploration before starting another one.

Area Information
--------------------Easy Difficulty--------------------
- Wetlands: An area right outside the Shelter's doors, the Wetlands are easily traversed. We recommend that you bring bug spray.
Areas of Interest: Twisted Tree, Dry Island, Sinking Sand
- The Glade: The Glade is a bright copse of aspen and poplar trees only minutes from the shelter. A great place for a picnic.
Areas of Interest: Three Aspens, Meadow, Wildflower Patch
- Deep Pond: The Deep Pond has two small islands. It is quite deep.
Areas of Interest: South Island, North Island, Peninsula
- Near Pond: The Near Pond is the closest of the four to the Shelter. It also has one island that is a bit bigger than Deep's.
Areas of Interest: Island, Shoreline Grasses, Shallows
--------------------Medium Difficulty--------------------
- Cold Pond: The first pond on the stream is the coldest of the four ponds. There is a small raft available should you wish to cross to one of the Cold Pond's island.
Areas of Interest: East Island, West Island, Inlet
- Muddy Pond: The last pond on the stream before it heads out of the Springs is deep, but it does not appear so because of the amount of silt and mud within it. We must ask that you do not try to cross the pond.
Areas of Interest: Mud Flats, Shoreline, Underbridge
- Hot Pool: A warm hot spring rises out of the ground here. If you do not mind sharing the water with a few creatures, it is the perfect place to relax.
Areas of Interest: Spring Source, Scented Grasses, Circling Rocks
- Grasslands: To the east of the Springs, the rolling plains take over. Part of these plains, called the Grasslands, are included within the Spring's jurisdiction.
Areas of Interest: Rock Formations, Hilltop, Burying Grasses
--------------------Hard Difficulty--------------------
- Far Forest: On the northern side of the Springs a dense, jungle-like forest begins. The Far Forest is dark and humid.
Areas of Interest: Mother Tree, Root Cavern, Canopy
- Northern Plains: To the side of the Far Forest is the North Plain. This plain is similar to the Grasslands, but the trek out there is much more tedious and because of its proximity to the mountains, the creatures found there are typically harder to find.
Areas of Interest: Rock Clumps, Streamshore, Blue Grasses
- Forest of Voices: This mainly coniferous forest is a prickly journey and not for the faint of heart.
Areas of Interest: Pillar of Wood, Life Flowers, Old Temple
- The Falls: These waterfalls signify the end of the Springs jurisdiction along the creek. Please do not play in the water above the falls; the Springs is not liable for your actions.
Areas of Interest: Edge Island, Misty Ledge, Tumbled Pool
- Rock Tower: The Rock Tower is a tall mound of rocks in the middle of the Springs. No one knows exactly how they got there. From the top, you can see the entire Springs quite well.
Areas of Interest: Strange Striation, Top of the World, Secret Cavern
--------------------Extreme Difficulty--------------------
- The Mountain: It's a strange world up in the mountains. The creatures up there are tough and feisty; we can only permit those who are willing to use extreme caution to hike into the Mountain. The Mountain Area is outside of the Springs jurisdiction and therefore there are creatures up there that we do not regularly carry in the Springs. When you venture into the Mountains, you are guaranteed to come home with an unlisted species.
Areas of Interest: Tree Line, Crystal Cave, Scraggy Outcrop
- The Juran Desert: Outside of the temperate climate that surrounds the Springs is the vast Juran Desert, also known as the Wandering Dunes. It is quite easy to get lost in the desert and so we only allow those who have experience to enter the Juran Desert. The Juran Desert Area is outside of the Springs jurisdiction and therefore there are creatures up there that we do not regularly carry in the Springs. When you venture into the Juran Desert, you are guaranteed to come home with an unlisted species

Actions You Wish to Perform: I have been so busy lately that I havenβt been on an exploration in quite some time and decide that I should go on one. I grabbed some gear and packed it up securely in my backpack, nothing out of the usual type of gear, flashlight, sleeping bag, matches and lighters, clothes, a tent, and etc. It was winter time, which meant it was going to be cold, so I made sure I had the right winter clothes on so I donβt freeze tonight while I am out and about. Right before I leave, I grab the mirror, hoping that I will be able to find a momet to add to my family. As I walk out of the door, Freya [link] follows me out, wanting to go with me. I decided to let her come with, I know she would enjoy herself and would make some lovely company.
By the time we head out the sun has started setting as it goes to sleep while the moon rises as it wakes, waking up the stars around. I turn on the flashlight and attach a little flashlight necklace on Freya, so I donβt lose her and so she doesnβt get lost or hurt. We walk through the lands carefully, taking the long route around the wetlands so that we donβt get wet or stuck in the soft lands there. While walking along, I start humming some songs, just trying to keep us both amused and have some fun as we walk. After a while of walking, we stop to snack on some food and drink some water for a few minutes then continue on. A good a mount of time has passed by the time we reach the hot pool. It is now completely dark, full night has taken over. I set the backpack down then quickly start working on getting supplies ready and make a fire. Once that is done I setup the tent, sleeping bag, and Freyaβs sleeping area.
I gently lay a nice warm blanket on Freya as she decides to go lay in the tent while I just sit by the fire. I stare at the mirror I brought, looking at my own reflection, my tired blue eyes just staring back at me. I sigh, wondering how in the world this is suppose to attract a momet. I set the mirror down by the backpack and decide to just call it a night since it seems like all the creatures around us have gone to bed. I keep the fire alive as I go into the tent and fall asleep next to Freya.

I look up at the sky and close my eyes for a bit letting the surroundings sink in. A light breeze goes by my face as I think about the day.

Actions You Wish to Perform: When I reach the Muddy Pond with Veritas [link] and Levin [link] I flop on the ground by it. Veritas settles down by me, but Levin nudges at my bag. Indulging him, I pull out the ball I'd been carrying and toss it down the bank of the pond. Levin chases it down and brings it back. As he keeps staring at me expectantly, I continue to toss the ball for him.

Actions You Wish to Perform I hadn't quite realized that explorations were even open at the Springs of Iyore until I'd noticed other citizens going out and then returning with pets. I didn't have much to offer myself this time, only sparing one Low Coin to go as it was all I had left. Of course, this is fine with me. A lot of the lovely creatures in the easy areas seemed to be often overlooked for creatures of "higher standing" to the citizens, and I felt the easy creatures to access needed as much of a chance as anyone else to have a great life. So I set off for the Glade, of course only leaving at night with a flashlight because knowing me, night was my time to travel and be alert and awake, never the day.
I've brought Kaede and Elysia with me tonight. The two love pups were dying to get out and explore, and Elysia had brought the ball I had dropped when she found me. She had decided to keep it and we played with it from time to time, and now she and Kaede were happily playing with it and each other as I walked through the grass toward the Glade.
Upon reaching my destination, I sit and decide to use the time to think. I was feeling restless lately. It was the beginning of 2013 and I was hoping maybe..maybe this year would be better than the last. Recently a lot of people in my life had passed away, including a friend who had committed suicide no more than a month ago, my next door neighbor who had died of old age, my dentist and my best friend's father who both passed away from cancer, my dog who also had cancer, among several other passings and a lot of people being generally unwell this past year. A lot of bad things had happened so as I sat, there was a lot to reflect on, a lot of stress to let out, to let out a scream or a cry and know no one would hear me in the darkness of night except my own two beautiful Lhedis, who were hoping to have puppies in the near future. Even Christmas had resulted in a terrible fight between my parents, me getting temporarily kicked out because I'm trans and had gotten my hair cut short, and all of the Christmas gifts I had made everyone were nice-looking but were forced and fake and I had hated them. I felt like the watercolor paintings I made didn't have any love in them, just forced smiles and nothing more.
The more I think about these things the worse off I am, sitting there at the Glade. It gets me depressed and though I tell myself I'm not going to cry with my beautiful dogs around, I do anyway, softly at first to the point that Kaede and Elysia don't even notice and seem to all-too-happily keep on playing with their ball, but eventually all the stress of the year and the shit that's happened crashes down on my shoulders and I can't help letting out a sob. This catches the attention of my two friends and they come running in to lay their heads in my lap as their own way of comforting me, and I snuggle into Kaede's fur as I cry. I'm just hoping 2013 is a better year and that not so many bad things happen. I miss my friend Zev. I miss my dentist and my next door neighbor and I miss the people I called my friends after they turned out to be bad people. Most of all I still missed my dog Hattie. I still wasn't over it and nothing could replace the Basset Hound who stole my affection out from under me, and I wished there was something, anything I could do to have her back. Now looking at my other dog, Dolley, she's getting old and tired and my parents are worried she might not be around much longer, and I don't want to lose her too.

Actions You Wish to Perform: I wonder to the base of the Mountain, unsure on what to expect. I had heard of many rumours of people going up there and seeing strange and wonderful creatures unlike any that were found on the ground. Most of the time I just thought they were old wives tails but still the fear was bottled up inside of me. As I started to begin to scale the huge structure I found the light seemed to quickly dwindle away and I was trapped in the ever nearing darkness. My pace began to quicken as I reach a ledge which seemed rocky and barren. Nothing was there but a pile of rocks and some old sticks. I scanned the area for anything else but there wasn't much more so I decided it would be the perfect place for a bit of star gazing. I unhook my backpack from my back and rummage around to find my star gazer. When I find it, I slip it from my bag and proceed to look at the stars impressed at how bright they look this dusk.

Actions You Wish to Perform: I stand by the muddy pond having just been out all day exploring with my Springs pets. I muse slightly about considering to cross the pond, but then I realize just how dirty it truly is. Beside me, Morgana makes a soft sound as she walks up to me. She drops a brush by my feet and I pick it up. I wonder if she wants to be brushed, so I reach out and try to brush her back, but that irritates her. I consider throwing the brush away, but instead I pocket it, and sit by the pond, wondering just where I should go next.

Actions You Wish to Perform: I walk about looking for clover, or a flower that interests me. I walk along with Tomo, and I allow him to frolic and be as inquisitive as he pleases, as long as he is in sight. I had packed a couple of apples for Tomo in my pack, and some sandwiches and strawberries for me, along with some clothes, matches, rope, a survival knife and some water, just in case. I hoped to take advantage of the food later, provided I could find a suitable place, and if I or Tomo got hungry, which I wasn't and Tomo seemed to be absorbed with a bug at the moment, so I'll assume he isn't either.

Actions You Wish to Perform: I venture out into the cold wilderness just after sundown, going alone and making double sure that I have no stowaways as I often do. I trek over the fields and across the bridge between the Hot Pool and Deep Pond. I take my time through the Forest of Voices as it so rightly named, finally making my way to the Mountains. I wear the White Holly in my hair so the Ikedien can catch the scent and carefully begin to climb up the rocks before me, I don't go very far when I look up and see something looking down at me.
