--things are getting a bit slushy right now - it's recommended that you stay off of the ice on the ponds and rivers.
For conservation efforts, we have to limit the amount of people that are in the Springs area at any one given time. If there is a slot below that is empty, you are welcome to begin an exploration. If there is not, you must wait until someone else is finished. There is no waitlist; forms posted when slots are full will be disregarded and hidden.
You may not hold more than one slot at the same time.
You must wait 24 hours after the completion of your previous exploration before starting another one.

Area Information
--------------------Easy Difficulty--------------------
- Wetlands: An area right outside the Shelter's doors, the Wetlands are easily traversed. We recommend that you bring bug spray.
Areas of Interest: Twisted Tree, Dry Island, Sinking Sand
- The Glade: The Glade is a bright copse of aspen and poplar trees only minutes from the shelter. A great place for a picnic.
Areas of Interest: Three Aspens, Meadow, Wildflower Patch
- Deep Pond: The Deep Pond has two small islands. It is quite deep.
Areas of Interest: South Island, North Island, Peninsula
- Near Pond: The Near Pond is the closest of the four to the Shelter. It also has one island that is a bit bigger than Deep's.
Areas of Interest: Island, Shoreline Grasses, Shallows
--------------------Medium Difficulty--------------------
- Cold Pond: The first pond on the stream is the coldest of the four ponds. There is a small raft available should you wish to cross to one of the Cold Pond's island.
Areas of Interest: East Island, West Island, Inlet
- Muddy Pond: The last pond on the stream before it heads out of the Springs is deep, but it does not appear so because of the amount of silt and mud within it. We must ask that you do not try to cross the pond.
Areas of Interest: Mud Flats, Shoreline, Underbridge
- Hot Pool: A warm hot spring rises out of the ground here. If you do not mind sharing the water with a few creatures, it is the perfect place to relax.
Areas of Interest: Spring Source, Scented Grasses, Circling Rocks
- Grasslands: To the east of the Springs, the rolling plains take over. Part of these plains, called the Grasslands, are included within the Spring's jurisdiction.
Areas of Interest: Rock Formations, Hilltop, Burying Grasses
--------------------Hard Difficulty--------------------
- Far Forest: On the northern side of the Springs a dense, jungle-like forest begins. The Far Forest is dark and humid.
Areas of Interest: Mother Tree, Root Cavern, Canopy
- Northern Plains: To the side of the Far Forest is the North Plain. This plain is similar to the Grasslands, but the trek out there is much more tedious and because of its proximity to the mountains, the creatures found there are typically harder to find.
Areas of Interest: Rock Clumps, Streamshore, Blue Grasses
- Forest of Voices: This mainly coniferous forest is a prickly journey and not for the faint of heart.
Areas of Interest: Pillar of Wood, Life Flowers, Old Temple
- The Falls: These waterfalls signify the end of the Springs jurisdiction along the creek. Please do not play in the water above the falls; the Springs is not liable for your actions.
Areas of Interest: Edge Island, Misty Ledge, Tumbled Pool
- Rock Tower: The Rock Tower is a tall mound of rocks in the middle of the Springs. No one knows exactly how they got there. From the top, you can see the entire Springs quite well.
Areas of Interest: Strange Striation, Top of the World, Secret Cavern
--------------------Extreme Difficulty--------------------
- The Mountain: It's a strange world up in the mountains. The creatures up there are tough and feisty; we can only permit those who are willing to use extreme caution to hike into the Mountain. The Mountain Area is outside of the Springs jurisdiction and therefore there are creatures up there that we do not regularly carry in the Springs. When you venture into the Mountains, you are guaranteed to come home with an unlisted species.
Areas of Interest: Tree Line, Crystal Cave, Scraggy Outcrop
- The Juran Desert: Outside of the temperate climate that surrounds the Springs is the vast Juran Desert, also known as the Wandering Dunes. It is quite easy to get lost in the desert and so we only allow those who have experience to enter the Juran Desert. The Juran Desert Area is outside of the Springs jurisdiction and therefore there are creatures up there that we do not regularly carry in the Springs. When you venture into the Juran Desert, you are guaranteed to come home with an unlisted species

Actions: Clipping my pieces of mint to my shoulder bag, I head out to the wildflower patch in the glade, intent on enjoying a nice morning walk. My boots squeak in the mud as I make my way to the greener area. I hope the area will be full of flowers by next season, as the cold weather is finally starting to fade. As I enter the patch, I spot a fairly dry looking tree stump, and decide to sit on it to rest for a moment.

I set out with Haegol so she can see the desert where her parents originated. With a quick kiss to Kyler I grab my blank mask and a backpack with several supplies suited for dessert exploration and make the trip on foot with Haegol, who is pretty excited even if she doesn't seem like it. The walk is long and I'm already tired before we even reach the dessert. Haegol is rather patient with me as we take small five minute breaks on the way. When we actually reach the sand the sun is just under the horizon and luckily it isn't that hot. The two of us walk through the sands for a couple hours, we were looking for the Ruined Temple but we are hopelessly lost and there is nothing in sight. With a sigh at the rising heat I drop to my butt in the sands and reach into my pack for some (warm) water. While pulling it out I accidentally drop the Blank Mask into the sand. I go to reach for it after taking a long drink.

Actions: Boy oh boy was I excited! Today was the day I would be going on a very special exploration, and I just couldn't wait! I had packed a small backpack with water and tiny snacks for me and my trusty pal, Loke (xXYoiteShindouXx: Loke ). I knew for a fact that my destination was going to be the Forest of Voices, and because I wanted to get there by Dawn, I headed out with Loke, the night before. The two of us traveled peacefully and joked around with each other, and ate snacks along the way to our destination. When we both reached the forest of voices, we weren't sure where we should head at first, and so we wandered for a little bit, until the sun had started peeking out, making the sky turn pretty red and pink colors. We ended up at an Old Temple, and tried our best not to trip over the various rocks that were present around it. We were just hoping we would find an interesting area, and we thought we had found it. The bright red of the sky looked beautiful through the trees and on the temple, making it glow.

I swing my bag around front and find my vial of blood tumbling out of my bag. I bite my lip and look to Adalric, we decide its better late then never to use it. I pop off the cork and set the item down in front of us before taking my seat beside Adalric as we begin our waiting game.

Actions: I head off in the middle of the day one day just on a whim, feeling a sudden edge to go exploring. I want to go out to the Juran Desert, so I know I must start in the day if I want to be there at night when it is cooler out. Moving quickly, I take only Phiradi with me as I know he knows the area well. When we finally get there we can finally relax, and I take a deep breath because our pace was so quick I've worn myself out. We settle in to watch the stars, and I blank out as I start to forget the things going on around me, lying against Phiradi's side and snuggling into him quietly.

Though we are a bit late and have missed the chance at going out on All Hallows' Eve, Elizabeth , Ayame and I decide to go up to the mountain anyway.
It takes all day and most of the night, but we finally made it to the tree line. There I put the singing bow down and allow Ayame to light it up.
I sit down next to Elizabeth as we wait.

Actions: It's cool when feet hit the pathway that leads away from home-- Far, far away. The air in the house is suffocating, at times, and tearing away from the four walls of the rather small building is always a treat.
Grass and the odd rock is all that meets bare feet, once I've made my way from home to the bank of the cold pond. The waters provide a chill I haven't had the pleasure of enjoying in months, and I shiver in anticipation, questioning whether or not I want to fully immerse myself in the dark waters without any sort of source of warmth until I get back home.
Before I can answer this question by throwing caution into the wind and my body into the waters, a soft light comes from behind me-- Body moving slowly as she lowers herself closer, pointing across the waters with her nose. The former wisp-- Now a full grown elemental-- goes by the name of Miistiia now, and she looks out ahead across the water, reaching for my pinned up hair as she points toward the inlet. With some guidance, her forefeet wind up clamped over my upper arms, half dangling me in the water as we make our way across.
Rafts are... Inconvenient for the feeling that I wanted to feel, the rush of cool nothingness around my legs, the numb tingle that comes with being cold for just a little too long. Soon enough, we arrive on shore-- Miistiia coiling in wide loops overhead, soon settling nearby to observe as I enjoyed the evening at its fullest. I made my best attempts to do so-- And as I wander away from Miistiia to further explore the inlet, she makes a motion that simply communicates a desire to not see me eaten by any of the 'undesirable' creatures that linger around the inlet during the night. I offer her my reassurances, but explain rather begrudgingly that I can't make any guarantees-- After all, I've never been one for self preservation.
I roam the inlet alone for some time, silent and thinking, permitting my thoughts to fester and boil over; Angry, bitter things that were better vented out where no-one could hear them pollute the cool evening with sound. I spent what felt like hours talking to myself, angrily gesturing, attempting to burn off all of the pent up rage before I let myself turn back toward home.
It takes some time for the constant flow of bitter, resentful speech to die off, and by that point Miistiia has come looking for me-- making her way over slowly, until she spots something behind me. Her forefeet make grabby motions, and I reach for her, touching one of her forefeet in a comforting manner as I turn to face whatever awaited in the shadows.
Perhaps I'd been too loud. Drawn too much attention-- But there's no turning back now, and thusly I raise my voice.
"Hello? Is anyone there? I'm sorry-- I didn't mean to wake anyone up! I just needed some air."

Actions: I headed out with Wind Storm at Dusk to finally reach the Hot Pool at night. Relaxing is what we were going for. I set all my stuff down as Windstorm ushers me into the hot, relaxing pool. I pat his head and smile as I take off my warm clothes to revile my bathing suit with the 'claw' dangling around my neck on a string. Windstorm goes rushing towards the lake and plops down inside making joyful noises. I giggle as I stare at him and give a little shiver as I run my bicepts. I walk to the edge of the pool and slip in. With a relaxing 'aww' leaving my lips. Wind Storm nudges my face and I put my arm around him and lean back enjoying the heat. We both look up into the sky to see the bright, twinkling stars. "I wonder if we will see any other creature out to night" I smile as I look at Wind Storm. He gives me a smile of hoping to see more friends too.
