--things are getting a bit slushy right now - it's recommended that you stay off of the ice on the ponds and rivers.
For conservation efforts, we have to limit the amount of people that are in the Springs area at any one given time. If there is a slot below that is empty, you are welcome to begin an exploration. If there is not, you must wait until someone else is finished. There is no waitlist; forms posted when slots are full will be disregarded and hidden.
You may not hold more than one slot at the same time.
You must wait 24 hours after the completion of your previous exploration before starting another one.

Area Information
--------------------Easy Difficulty--------------------
- Wetlands: An area right outside the Shelter's doors, the Wetlands are easily traversed. We recommend that you bring bug spray.
Areas of Interest: Twisted Tree, Dry Island, Sinking Sand
- The Glade: The Glade is a bright copse of aspen and poplar trees only minutes from the shelter. A great place for a picnic.
Areas of Interest: Three Aspens, Meadow, Wildflower Patch
- Deep Pond: The Deep Pond has two small islands. It is quite deep.
Areas of Interest: South Island, North Island, Peninsula
- Near Pond: The Near Pond is the closest of the four to the Shelter. It also has one island that is a bit bigger than Deep's.
Areas of Interest: Island, Shoreline Grasses, Shallows
--------------------Medium Difficulty--------------------
- Cold Pond: The first pond on the stream is the coldest of the four ponds. There is a small raft available should you wish to cross to one of the Cold Pond's island.
Areas of Interest: East Island, West Island, Inlet
- Muddy Pond: The last pond on the stream before it heads out of the Springs is deep, but it does not appear so because of the amount of silt and mud within it. We must ask that you do not try to cross the pond.
Areas of Interest: Mud Flats, Shoreline, Underbridge
- Hot Pool: A warm hot spring rises out of the ground here. If you do not mind sharing the water with a few creatures, it is the perfect place to relax.
Areas of Interest: Spring Source, Scented Grasses, Circling Rocks
- Grasslands: To the east of the Springs, the rolling plains take over. Part of these plains, called the Grasslands, are included within the Spring's jurisdiction.
Areas of Interest: Rock Formations, Hilltop, Burying Grasses
--------------------Hard Difficulty--------------------
- Far Forest: On the northern side of the Springs a dense, jungle-like forest begins. The Far Forest is dark and humid.
Areas of Interest: Mother Tree, Root Cavern, Canopy
- Northern Plains: To the side of the Far Forest is the North Plain. This plain is similar to the Grasslands, but the trek out there is much more tedious and because of its proximity to the mountains, the creatures found there are typically harder to find.
Areas of Interest: Rock Clumps, Streamshore, Blue Grasses
- Forest of Voices: This mainly coniferous forest is a prickly journey and not for the faint of heart.
Areas of Interest: Pillar of Wood, Life Flowers, Old Temple
- The Falls: These waterfalls signify the end of the Springs jurisdiction along the creek. Please do not play in the water above the falls; the Springs is not liable for your actions.
Areas of Interest: Edge Island, Misty Ledge, Tumbled Pool
- Rock Tower: The Rock Tower is a tall mound of rocks in the middle of the Springs. No one knows exactly how they got there. From the top, you can see the entire Springs quite well.
Areas of Interest: Strange Striation, Top of the World, Secret Cavern
--------------------Extreme Difficulty--------------------
- The Mountain: It's a strange world up in the mountains. The creatures up there are tough and feisty; we can only permit those who are willing to use extreme caution to hike into the Mountain. The Mountain Area is outside of the Springs jurisdiction and therefore there are creatures up there that we do not regularly carry in the Springs. When you venture into the Mountains, you are guaranteed to come home with an unlisted species.
Areas of Interest: Tree Line, Crystal Cave, Scraggy Outcrop
- The Juran Desert: Outside of the temperate climate that surrounds the Springs is the vast Juran Desert, also known as the Wandering Dunes. It is quite easy to get lost in the desert and so we only allow those who have experience to enter the Juran Desert. The Juran Desert Area is outside of the Springs jurisdiction and therefore there are creatures up there that we do not regularly carry in the Springs. When you venture into the Juran Desert, you are guaranteed to come home with an unlisted species

Actions: I had wandered for a while before coming to the conclusion that I was indeed lost. The dark pond in front of me was not exactly inviting, but it was warm out and starting to get dark so I sat on the shoreline while trying to figure out which way I'd come from.

Actions: Upon getting to the Far Forest, I take a quick look around. I'll need a place to camp out, and with the cyrii around, it's probably best not to be on the ground. I look up at one of the trees and bite my lip. It looks high and steep - not fun to climb. But I try anyway, and eventually manage to get up near the top. I stretch out on a branch and continue to look around until I nod off to sleep.

Soooo .... I see that :devDemonskyler: is going to The Mountain, which is the open Extreme spot and you're not reopening spots ... so I guess I'll change my exploration so I can go somewhere and do my Desert one at a later date - sorry for any confusion. It's my bad for not checking the posts closer. (and luckily I checked again or I would have posted a form for easy hahaha)

It's odd that I find myself so far from the shelter, but Shou and Molinete were rather insistent of a venture today. I packed up some snacks for my girls and a lunch for myself and we flew before first light had touched. I'm constantly amazed at how quickly they can move, especially when they're feeling cooped up. We land as the first rays are cresting and the dew chills me by wetting the bottoms of my pants. The girls busy themselves playing at the shores edge while I through out my blanket and let the morning light bathe me. It feels fantastic and I fall asleep in no time.
I'm woken by a rather large nose turning my over and I laugh. The sky is ground is dry now and apparently I've been asleep and 'boring' for too long. My two girls look at me expectantly and so I break out lunch and the snacks. I find it peculiar that neither girl is interested in the steak I brought. Strange and fortuitous, as I've forgotten my knife so it would have been hell to split.
Still I set it off to the side and watch the insects play, and the clouds shift over me. I laugh heartily when the two romping giants disturb an entire meadow of butterflies and I jump up to dance in the flutter of fleeing beauties. I do believe Molinete attempted to look bashful, Shou just grinned.
Today's great, but I really don't want to put that steak back in my bag ... it's been in the sun too long for me to put back in the fridge.

I pack up a backpack full of the needed supplies; food, water, clothes, money, and of course the Blank Mask. Once ready, I say goodbye to my lovely pets and head out to the mountain, the one place that I have been wanting to go to for some time now and have been preparing for. After several hours of traveling, I reach the mountain, the sun is setting and twilight is upon me, and getting darker as it starts becoming dusk. I decide to grab a flashlight out of my back pack and head into the Crystal Cave, the light reflecting off of the crystals and making them gleam as I head through the cave. I stop for a few minutes to get the mask out of my bag, knowing that it will be better to have it out then stuck in there. After that I continue to head through the cave, wondering what I might find.

Actions: With Kyler not feeling well and trying to rest I decide to go on an exploration in his place, knowing he wanted another oona I quietly take the items he'd use and head out. I don't make it very far before new mother Cagali catches up to me, she seems to know about my worry for Kyler and wants to keep me company while I'm out. Ever since Xirena was born her maternal instincts have kicked in and she's been very attentive to me and my pets. It's a quiet walk, full of thought and worry and before I know it I'm in the far forest with Cagali nudging me, sticking close to my side. I snap out of my thoughts and pull out the spell tag I grabbed, examining it for a moment.

Actions: I decide to take Eos with me, since she has been itching to explore. I carefully keep the mint away from her even though she seems keen to try and get it from me. Once we make it to the Near Pond I rub the mint between my fingers a few times, trying to attract a Feline Mirki to myself. Eos though decides she wants to pounce and she steals my mint, running off towards the Shoreline Grasses to try and hide from me. I chase after her, hoping she doesn't attract a Mikri that will hurt her.

Actions You Wish to Perform: (I'm not that good about this whole action thing so I will keep it short and sweet)
Today was the day, well actually it was nighttime but hay semantics, that I would would once again go back to the Juran Desert. After a bit of planing It was decided I would head to the Ruined Temple. It was a hard choice as I really wanted to go to the sand dunes, yet as I was not taking a flier with me, well the dunes would be way to hard to navigate.
Also I may or may not like tempting fate when it deals with "supernatural" things. So a temple hunting we shall go.
Since it was a bit to far to walk, I do enlist a flier just to drop me and two others off. It worked out great as Echo wanted to spread her wings a bit, yet did not want to go into the temple. That or she just wanted a bit of alone time with a certain other Rifkim.
To help me in my little adventure Lilith agreed to come to help alluminate the way, just in case my flash light dies. Which we all know if this turns into a horror story then it will die. Secretly I think Lilith wants it to happen, that evil little bugger. Lastly Azrael
came to offer up a bit of protection as she is not afraid of spiders, scorpions, and other creepy crawlies.
Well that should of been it but Ming Yue had fallen asleep on my head before I left and well, he seems to be clinging on very well. So yay. Go us!
With that all taken care of, we head off into the temple. Going in and out of rooms. Down corridors and going farther away from the entrance. We stop every once and awhile so I can make a mark on a piece of paper and making an even bigger mark on the floor, so as to make sure we don't get lost for ever. Cause that would stink.
For a while nothing really interesting happens, other then finding some awesome looking vases that I wanted to lug back but knew I could not. Well nothing happened till Yue woke up.
I realized he was awake when I felt something nibbling on my hair. Fearing for the safety of my hair I swiftly sweep him off of my head and into my arms. But sadly it was all a ploy! Now that he was in my arms he had access to my coat pockets. For in one of my pockets was something that he had thought would make a wonderful toy. With one quick movement he reached into my pocket, grabbed my spell chain and bolted off down a corridor.
We give chase while hoping we do not lose our way completely.

Actions You Wish to Perform: Before I leave I'm convinced by Scharlachrotfeuer and Elusindae to come with me, each for different reasons. Elusindae was intrigued to visit where her father came from, and Scharlach was curious about the place that burns as hot as a firebird's feathers. Since I knew that the desert could get cold at night, Scharlach's heat would help immensely, especially for Elusindae who wasn't used to desert temperatures, having been born into captivity.
I decided to set off at night, so that I would get the chance to see if there was anything out there that would glow or shimmer at me. Having heard the stories about the desert, I made sure to pack enough water for all three of us for a few days, as well as enough food.
The first night goes by without a hitch, and, using Elusindae's sense for water as well as Scharlach's ability to fly, we manage to locate the Oasis by the morning. Thankfully there were a few trees that we could wait under, and so I set up a spot where I can watch the water. Scharlach makes sure to keep herself cool when she's perched so that nothing goes up in flames, as the heat of the day combined with her own heat could dry out the plants pretty quickly into tinder. Elusindae explores the immediate area, cautious not to get too far from the Oasis. And I sit there in my shelter, watching and waiting for a desert creature to come to the water to drink as the morning goes by.

Everything looks fine except the exploration that you've linked for Hard; the Rock Tower only became a Hard area in August of last year, and so, at the time of your linked exploration, the Rock Tower was only a Medium area.

Actions You Wish to Perform: We actually started in the afternoon, the team and I. Five of them were going with me this time. Jongin seemed pretty cool about it. Being brand new he couldn't hold in his excitement on going on an Exploration with me so early, but he tried to look like the cool one in this entire situation. He had formed a quick bond with Kyungsoo ever since the tiny rodent mikri had found him, pink sweater and all. He couldn't help it, they'd fallen hard and quick, though Jongin was a little panicked every time Kyungsoo was out of his sight for more than two seconds. Misconception felt a little like the odd woman out, being the only girl on this journey. I easily equipped her with a pack full of necessities. Going to the mountain wasn't an easy or short trip in the least.
She stepped out the door first, or so I thought. She was waiting on Ellery to join her. Ellery was a bit of a special Wyvern, most of us were sure he was a little slow in some way but it was alright. He wasn't a necessity for our trip, but it didn't matter. He was so excited to go on an exploration, and despite his weight he kept hopping around and blaring out his joy in my ears, enveloping me in winged hugs and trying to perform little dances, though aside from his other problems it seemed he might be tone-deaf. Seeing him so excited though was such a benefit. He was such a sweet Wyvern, he always meant well and tried his hardest even if he didn't understand a lot of the time, and it was worth having him along.
When the rest of us stepped outside, Löytyi was already flying around in circles overhead, excited to be going out today. He stretched his wings as he landed, and I hoisted my backpack up, preparing for the long day ahead of us. We wouldn't be reaching the mountain anytime soon, so I checked my boots and made sure everyone would be plenty warm before we started off.
There was only one delay. Jongin was panicking again, and that could only mean one thing. Kyungsoo was missing. A tiny rodent mikri could get so easily lost and as soon as we set foot out the door there was no telling what dangers there were. He worried about the small love of his life, and rightfully so.
After a few minutes of searching, however, we heard skittering through the grasses ahead of us, and Kyungsoo was suddenly back, wearing his tiny backpack like last time. He'd insisted on carrying the delicate white holly himself, refusing to let anyone else touch it. He wanted to keep it safe. And now the look on his face read one clear message. "Are you dipshits coming? At this rate it'll be dark before we get there. I told you we should have started last night. We could have been there by morning."
Jongin was too elated to have Kyungsoo back, and immediately took the small creature up in arms and nuzzled him, peppering Avis kisses all over his tiny face. And before long, we were off, trekking through the grasses up past the wetlands.
We made our way slowly, but surely, and Kyungsoo, though the most determined of us on our adventure, tired quickly, finding Jongin's back was a good place to rest soon after we'd come to the cross between the Hot Pool and the Deep Pond. Ellery was easily distracted by everything, determined to make friends with all the butterflies and ladybugs he could find. Misconception had to rein him in every now and then, though he was well-behaved and under control.
Löytyi found himself constantly by my side. He felt like a small protector against predators, I assume, hissing out chirps and taking defensive stances at every corner, every noise or snap of a twig.
The trip seemed to go smoothly, no one wanted to misbehave, we simply walked and chatted, with me having to translate all their words, though we did see wild ikedas hopping by every now and then, an oona skittering around or a thunderbird caught up in a tree watching us. The Forest of Voices wasn't so bad, we just had to make our way winding around trees to get past the forest and on to the target of our trip.
The Mountain. Last time I was here there weren't such...tourist attractions set up. "Points of Interest," they called them. I knew where I wanted to go. Crystal Cave. It sounded rather gorgeous, and I was almost as determined as little Kyungsoo to get there.
We were right. By the time we'd gotten up the mountain far enough it was pitch black and every one of them was on guard, except for Ellery, who was just confused as to why it was so dark here. Kyungsoo had rested enough, he was back skittering on the ground with Jongin watching his every move, trying to make himself seem big, fierce, tough, though he was such a tiny thing. He wanted to be intimidating, to scare off anything he didn't like. No. He was on a mission, and he came to complete it, with or without the rest of us.
It was his determination alone that got us, eventually, to Crystal Cave. Just as beautiful as I'd hoped, if not more so, though at the point we got there it was more relief than anything, everyone immediately finding places to curl up and rest as Misconception and I made ourselves useful to find twigs and other wood to build a fire. And finally, after such a long day of travel with all six of us, she found herself curled up behind me, my back against her chest as I watched Löy and Ellery curl up together. Jongin made his way over with Kyungsoo, settling his head into my lap with tiny Kyungsoo in my hands. And as I watched the tiny mikri fall asleep, I removed his little backpack for him, placing it on the ground and taking out the White Holly to put next to us. Everyone slept soundly then, though I knew I could sleep on the way home, so instead I sat watching, waiting for something to happen, staring at the evenly rising and falling chest of the tiny creature in my palms.

Actions: I had been anticipating the trip for some time now and thus had to distract myself until later in the day, and even then I had almost left without my sprig of mint. Luckily little Disjani had scurried to me with the mint leaves in her mouth just as I was stepping out. Smiling to her I lift her onto my shoulder, plucking the minty plant from between her teeth before she can chew it any more. I hold the plant between my fingers as I take the short trip to the glade. Disjani seems interested in trying to crawl down to the mint in my hand but doesn't want to risk scaling down my arm. I giggle as she scurries back and forth on my shoulders impatiently, hoping to gain her treat back. When we reach the wildflower patch I crouch and set Disjani down to frolic a bit, I watch her for a moment or two before rubbing the mint between my fingers and look about waiting for a feline to come along.

Actions: I wake up so early that the sun has yet to rise and double-check my backpack carefully for the things I'm certainly going to need in the Northern Plains: some food and drink supplies, some extra warm clothes because I can foresee that it's going to be a cold day out there, and the vial of blood I've been keeping for this day. I leave the shelter and head north-west, past the wetlands, across the bridge between the hot pool and deep pond, now walking straight towards north and trying to keep as far as possible form the forest of voices and the awkward sounds coming from it, till I finally reach the second bridge that allows me to cross the river upstream of the cold pond and enter the northern plains. Once there, I'd rather not waste much time idling around, so I choose an upwind spot, open my vial and spill the blood on some rocks. A faint cold breeze is now blowing, so I know it won't take too long to spread the smell around...
