--things are getting a bit slushy right now - it's recommended that you stay off of the ice on the ponds and rivers.
For conservation efforts, we have to limit the amount of people that are in the Springs area at any one given time. If there is a slot below that is empty, you are welcome to begin an exploration. If there is not, you must wait until someone else is finished. There is no waitlist; forms posted when slots are full will be disregarded and hidden.
You may not hold more than one slot at the same time.
You must wait 24 hours after the completion of your previous exploration before starting another one.

Area Information
--------------------Easy Difficulty--------------------
- Wetlands: An area right outside the Shelter's doors, the Wetlands are easily traversed. We recommend that you bring bug spray.
Areas of Interest: Twisted Tree, Dry Island, Sinking Sand
- The Glade: The Glade is a bright copse of aspen and poplar trees only minutes from the shelter. A great place for a picnic.
Areas of Interest: Three Aspens, Meadow, Wildflower Patch
- Deep Pond: The Deep Pond has two small islands. It is quite deep.
Areas of Interest: South Island, North Island, Peninsula
- Near Pond: The Near Pond is the closest of the four to the Shelter. It also has one island that is a bit bigger than Deep's.
Areas of Interest: Island, Shoreline Grasses, Shallows
--------------------Medium Difficulty--------------------
- Cold Pond: The first pond on the stream is the coldest of the four ponds. There is a small raft available should you wish to cross to one of the Cold Pond's island.
Areas of Interest: East Island, West Island, Inlet
- Muddy Pond: The last pond on the stream before it heads out of the Springs is deep, but it does not appear so because of the amount of silt and mud within it. We must ask that you do not try to cross the pond.
Areas of Interest: Mud Flats, Shoreline, Underbridge
- Hot Pool: A warm hot spring rises out of the ground here. If you do not mind sharing the water with a few creatures, it is the perfect place to relax.
Areas of Interest: Spring Source, Scented Grasses, Circling Rocks
- Grasslands: To the east of the Springs, the rolling plains take over. Part of these plains, called the Grasslands, are included within the Spring's jurisdiction.
Areas of Interest: Rock Formations, Hilltop, Burying Grasses
--------------------Hard Difficulty--------------------
- Far Forest: On the northern side of the Springs a dense, jungle-like forest begins. The Far Forest is dark and humid.
Areas of Interest: Mother Tree, Root Cavern, Canopy
- Northern Plains: To the side of the Far Forest is the North Plain. This plain is similar to the Grasslands, but the trek out there is much more tedious and because of its proximity to the mountains, the creatures found there are typically harder to find.
Areas of Interest: Rock Clumps, Streamshore, Blue Grasses
- Forest of Voices: This mainly coniferous forest is a prickly journey and not for the faint of heart.
Areas of Interest: Pillar of Wood, Life Flowers, Old Temple
- The Falls: These waterfalls signify the end of the Springs jurisdiction along the creek. Please do not play in the water above the falls; the Springs is not liable for your actions.
Areas of Interest: Edge Island, Misty Ledge, Tumbled Pool
- Rock Tower: The Rock Tower is a tall mound of rocks in the middle of the Springs. No one knows exactly how they got there. From the top, you can see the entire Springs quite well.
Areas of Interest: Strange Striation, Top of the World, Secret Cavern
--------------------Extreme Difficulty--------------------
- The Mountain: It's a strange world up in the mountains. The creatures up there are tough and feisty; we can only permit those who are willing to use extreme caution to hike into the Mountain. The Mountain Area is outside of the Springs jurisdiction and therefore there are creatures up there that we do not regularly carry in the Springs. When you venture into the Mountains, you are guaranteed to come home with an unlisted species.

- The Juran Desert: Outside of the temperate climate that surrounds the Springs is the vast Juran Desert, also known as the Wandering Dunes. It is quite easy to get lost in the desert and so we only allow those who have experience to enter the Juran Desert. The Juran Desert Area is outside of the Springs jurisdiction and therefore there are creatures up there that we do not regularly carry in the Springs. When you venture into the Juran Desert, you are guaranteed to come home with an unlisted species

Actions: I decide to go to the Near Pond to take a late night swim to the island to do some star gazing and just enjoy the night time. I use a lantern flashlight to light my way to the pond and once I get there I keep it on by the edge of the pond so I know where to go to get back. I leave my bag by the lamp as well since I didn't want the burlap, my clothes or my towel to get wet. I get into the cold water and swim to the island, taking my time since it is dark and I don't want to collide with anything. Once I get to the island I climb out of the water, fixing my suit and finding a good spot to sit for a bit. I stay on the island for only a few hours before swimming back to my stuff so I can dry off and head home.

Actions: I take a deep breath of the cooling air. I didn't bother taking an umbrella as i enjoy the warm summer rain. I sing to myself as I walk towards the Near Pond. I love this time of day when the sun is slowly setting. I look over the shallows seeing a rainbow appear. I smile to myself as i slowly head towards the bank of the Pond. I slip my shoes off and think to myself, nothing like a nice night swim in the rain. I slip in and head to the shallows. I flip to the sky, laying on my back and just floating in the water. I clear my senses and just let the rain wash away my worries.

Actions: Im on a Camping Tour with some of my lovely Pets. This Night we got surprised by a refreshing shower of Rain. Quickly we built up the tent and with Vitos help we made a cosy and warm fire. Starly is sitting on my shoulder and snuggle up into my hair. Shadow and Titania rest beside me, cuddling up to my Body and spend me some body warmth.

Actions You Wish to Perform: getting ready early I pack my things for the journey bringing anything that could be of use and some just to calm my paranoia.I try to leave quitely not to wake anyone but as I get ready to go I see Quaran fav.me/d6897a0 sitting behind me, I think about it then decide to have Quaran come with me. Hours go by as me and Quaran walk and make our way to the mountain when we get there I'm just starting to believe that maybe this journey is crazier then I thought it was. Quaran nudges my back and I take some steps forward as we work our way up. After awhile of climbing we find a cave that makes me semi nervous but looks amazing. Quaran tries to lead me in but I just stand in the same spot, I see him start to go in and race after him not wanting to be separated from him.

Actions: It's finally a rainy morning after so many hot summer days, and I decide to go out on a trip as soon as the sun rises. I shall take Ruby fav.me/d5ql2lz with me, as she's been with me for a very short time and I think some time spent together will help us bond closer. Her bright red fur is also impossible not to notice among the grass and she might help me attract some wild creature.
She seems to enjoy the light rain and occasionally hops in front of me while we stroll our way to the near pond. By the time we reach the pond, it has stopped raining and I choose a log to rest on while Ruby takes a look around and gently pats the water lilies that have bloomed near the pond's bank. While I keep an eye on her and smile, I recognize the sound of something else slapping against the water surface not far from where she's playing.

Today’s the day. I was disheartened to hear my friend ~AliceTheHunted was unable to join me on my quest, but I’ve done this before, my bags are packed, and I am too excited not to go. Besides, for once I’ll be the trailblazer, it holds much appeal.
Toil is situated directly infront of the door, as though reminding me the purpose of our venture. Looking for a cousin for him to claim. After all he’s already claimed all of us. I almost walk past him just to tease but pause instead and allow him to scurry up and around my leg, torso and as much as it tickled managed not to laught hard enough to dislodge him as he settled on my shoulder. Forever my little navigator, at least in his mind.
Tempest rolled her eyes at the antics of the tiny creature. She shared a look with her sparring partner Phoebe who had denied accompanying us this time. Tempest thought for a moment her friend had been wise in her decision, Phoebe simply smirked knowingly. With a huff Tempest trotted over and offered to let me climb up. It’s still early, we’ve a long journey ahead of us, I decline merrily. After a couple hours I’m certain I’ll need her generosity.
Altair, however wasn’t so kind, he was a bit grumpy at having such an early start, he was very much a night creature and hated that I had convinced him this adventure would be fun. He gave me the stink eye as he landed and draped himself dramatically across Tempest’s back. He could be such a prima donna when it took his fancy.
We left with a wave to the remaining menagerie, some looking on envious (Cyan) others as though we were mad to attempt such a dangerous quest (Sylver) and Phoebe looked a little worried she might have to come and rescue us all in the end. She won’t. Well, I’m fairly certain she won’t.
Hours passed as we walked and all of us took turns praising Tempest for her endurance and generosity for bearing us for portions of the journey. But Dusk was upon us, and Altair was finally perking up even through the heat that persisted through the darkening skies. He glowed gently and took point. The dirt under our feet turned to sand, and the sand got in the cuffs of my pants, in my socks and between my toes.
Toil chirped merrily in my ear, growing more and more excited with every sand filled step. Tempest huffed and ruffled her feathers irritated at the persistent sand and shook her head against the grit in her eyes already straining in the deepening dark.
I whistle to Altair to return, we were looking for the Ruined Temple. Toil perked up even more as I asked the Skyfish if he could see anything. The little fellow shimmied down my body and scurried ahead following the luminous glow in the star laden sky. Tempest sighed again and pressed her head against my shoulder practically insisting I climb up. She took two steps with me on her back then launched herself into the sky to catch out fleeing companions.
This certainly seemed an auspicious beginning.

I walk around the shoreline and set the bag near a large tuft of cattails before walking away to sit close enough to the bag to free whatever knopfleri managed to get stuck with better ease.

Actions: When Solar , Lunar , and I finally make it to the Deep Pond night has fallen over Iyore. It is too late to trudge over to one of the Islands so we settle for exploring the Peninsula for now. I am just sitting down, getting food out of my backpack when I hear a rather loud splash come from my left.
I look over to see Solar running towards me full speed with a grin on his face, and Lunar climbing out of the water like a drowned rat. I tell them to knock off their shenanigans and set up a small, safe, fire to boil water for tea. As soon as the water boils I remove my camping pot from the fire, smother the small flames, and put my pot back so I don't burn myself. Just as I am about to add the tea and Mint leaves to the water I hear a wail that sounds suspiciously like Solar over towards the water edge. I sigh and stand up, leaving my tea and mint alone to go assess what Lunar just did to her brother.

Actions: I decide to head off with Phae clad in adventuring attire with a backpack packed with some snacks and my recently purchased Dark Orb, after travelling through the Forest for a while Phae and I finally make it to the Mother Tree. Deciding it's a good time to rest, I sit down making sure to keep an eye on Phae as I rustle in my bag for food only to feel the Dark Orb. Curious I pull out the orb and examine it, wondering what it could possibly beckon, I idly rub it in my hand as I think.

Actions You Wish to Perform: Tonight I pack for a longer journey than normal, to go to a place I've never been before. I decide to leave around dusk because I know with my failure of a sense of direction I know that I won't get there until it's pitch black out. So, I take a new set of friends with me on my journey to the Juran Desert. Sniper was the first to jump at the opportunity to go, jumping up onto his wobbly baby feet and making cute noises at me to convince me he was old enough to go, so of course I had to let him. And with that he's the first to stumble out the door ahead of me, and I chuckle. He's like a newborn, he never quite got used to those frail little legs.
Behind me The Attorney walks up and snorts, and when I look back at her she smiles. Soul is a brave girl and she offered up her services for me to ride her back if I got tired. Her wings could also come in handy for lookouts if we needed them, and so I took some of the gear we needed and strapped it to her back for now, since I wanted to walk on my own at least for a little while. She happily trotted out the door, her tail already providing a nice glow so we could see where we were going, though I had my flashlight anyway. As she walks out she starts to create some sort of conversation with little Sniper, obviously much bigger than he is.
And just as we're about to take off, I hear what sounds like another snort and a "fffft" behind me, and I look back once again to see Master Dazzle Trickz standing there smirking. He has the, "You weren't seriously going to leave me behind right? You must be joking," look on his face, and he steps forward, revealing that his tiny charge, Diva has shyly come along to perform any services for his Rifkim. So I shrug my shoulders and wave them on, and finally after too long of waiting and packing and standing around, we're off.
We hike for some time, and Diva and Sniper seem to be getting along well, both small, green fellows playing and jumping around and having fun. Diva makes sure to avoid any signs of dirt and mud and steps carefully around it, obviously not wanting to mess up his pretty fur, but poor Sniper is not so lucky. The clumsy little Ikid stumbles and falls multiple times, ending up in the dirt more often than not, grunting every time he falls and feeling embarrassed afterwards.
Soul whinnies at the sight and helps pick him up, though D. Trickz just smirks and stays at a distance from the group. He never did get very attached. He just wanted to see what all the ruckus was about explorations, really, but that doesn't mean he plans on socializing in the least.
After what seems like hours of this, but probably wasn't that long, my feet are getting sore right as we reach the desert itself, and it's now pitch black night out, and Soul's tail helps lead the way as she steps in front of us all. When she stops to look at me, she offers her services of riding her again, and this time I take up the offer, moving some of the packed materials on her back out of the way and getting up on her when she kneels down for me to hoist up onto her. I take out my flashlight to help see as well, and realize there's no moon tonight, or at least not that I can see. It's darker than I'd expected, and the dark in unfamiliar territories can do things to your mind.
Not only am I feeling nervous, but the group is starting to hear things, what sounds like snapping branches though there are no trees, things slithering along and howls in the distance. Sniper is becoming terrified and he sticks close to Soul, almost attached to her as he walks. Diva is rather scared as well and also has this tactic. Soul doesn't seem to be spooked easily though and she ventures on proudly.
D. Trickz is a brave Rifkim with an attitude that he fears nothing, and so he acts brave, though he noticeably sticks a little closer to us than before, and a few times when he hears something move or snap he flicks his head and emits a low growl, clearly showing anger at what he hears.
And with that, we just keep walking, and I hide my face in Soul's fur a couple times, almost jumping out of my skin once or twice at a few eerie noises. We're starting to wonder if this wasn't such a good idea.
