Description --Please check the Exploration Status in the Journal before commenting here--

Check the weather on the front page before you go!
--things are getting a bit slushy right now - it's recommended that you stay off of the ice on the ponds and rivers.

For conservation efforts, we have to limit the amount of people that are in the Springs area at any one given time. If there is a slot below that is empty, you are welcome to begin an exploration. If there is not, you must wait until someone else is finished. There is no waitlist; forms posted when slots are full will be disregarded and hidden.

You may not hold more than one slot at the same time.
You must wait 24 hours after the completion of your previous exploration before starting another one.

Area Information
--------------------Easy Difficulty--------------------
- Wetlands: An area right outside the Shelter's doors, the Wetlands are easily traversed. We recommend that you bring bug spray.
Areas of Interest: Twisted Tree, Dry Island, Sinking Sand

- The Glade: The Glade is a bright copse of aspen and poplar trees only minutes from the shelter. A great place for a picnic.
Areas of Interest: Three Aspens, Meadow, Wildflower Patch

- Deep Pond: The Deep Pond has two small islands. It is quite deep.
Areas of Interest: South Island, North Island, Peninsula

- Near Pond: The Near Pond is the closest of the four to the Shelter. It also has one island that is a bit bigger than Deep's.
Areas of Interest: Island, Shoreline Grasses, Shallows

--------------------Medium Difficulty--------------------
- Cold Pond: The first pond on the stream is the coldest of the four ponds. There is a small raft available should you wish to cross to one of the Cold Pond's island.
Areas of Interest: East Island, West Island, Inlet

- Muddy Pond: The last pond on the stream before it heads out of the Springs is deep, but it does not appear so because of the amount of silt and mud within it. We must ask that you do not try to cross the pond.
Areas of Interest: Mud Flats, Shoreline, Underbridge

- Hot Pool: A warm hot spring rises out of the ground here. If you do not mind sharing the water with a few creatures, it is the perfect place to relax.
Areas of Interest: Spring Source, Scented Grasses, Circling Rocks

- Grasslands: To the east of the Springs, the rolling plains take over. Part of these plains, called the Grasslands, are included within the Spring's jurisdiction.
Areas of Interest: Rock Formations, Hilltop, Burying Grasses

--------------------Hard Difficulty--------------------
- Far Forest: On the northern side of the Springs a dense, jungle-like forest begins. The Far Forest is dark and humid.
Areas of Interest: Mother Tree, Root Cavern, Canopy

- Northern Plains: To the side of the Far Forest is the North Plain. This plain is similar to the Grasslands, but the trek out there is much more tedious and because of its proximity to the mountains, the creatures found there are typically harder to find.
Areas of Interest: Rock Clumps, Streamshore, Blue Grasses

- Forest of Voices: This mainly coniferous forest is a prickly journey and not for the faint of heart.
Areas of Interest: Pillar of Wood, Life Flowers, Old Temple

- The Falls: These waterfalls signify the end of the Springs jurisdiction along the creek. Please do not play in the water above the falls; the Springs is not liable for your actions.
Areas of Interest: Edge Island, Misty Ledge, Tumbled Pool

- Rock Tower: The Rock Tower is a tall mound of rocks in the middle of the Springs. No one knows exactly how they got there. From the top, you can see the entire Springs quite well.
Areas of Interest: Strange Striation, Top of the World, Secret Cavern

--------------------Extreme Difficulty--------------------
- The Mountain: It's a strange world up in the mountains. The creatures up there are tough and feisty; we can only permit those who are willing to use extreme caution to hike into the Mountain. The Mountain Area is outside of the Springs jurisdiction and therefore there are creatures up there that we do not regularly carry in the Springs. When you venture into the Mountains, you are guaranteed to come home with an unlisted species.
Areas of Interest: Tree Line, Crystal Cave, Scraggy Outcrop

- The Juran Desert: Outside of the temperate climate that surrounds the Springs is the vast Juran Desert, also known as the Wandering Dunes. It is quite easy to get lost in the desert and so we only allow those who have experience to enter the Juran Desert. The Juran Desert Area is outside of the Springs jurisdiction and therefore there are creatures up there that we do not regularly carry in the Springs. When you venture into the Juran Desert, you are guaranteed to come home with an unlisted species
Areas of Interest: Ruined Temple, Oasis, Sand Dunes

Area You Wish To Explore: Near pond
Coins You Are Offering: 1 LC
Owner of the Resulting Discovery: ~Marly-XI
Trait You Are Looking For: Something neon or glowy.
Item You Wish to Use:
Time of Day: Night
Actions You Wish to Perform: As I reach the near pond, I notice it's starting to get dark. I see an island a little ways out, and decide it might be a good place to camp. I swim across to the island, and finding a good place to set up camp, start putting up my tent. Midway through though, I hear a twig snap behind me. I quickly whirl around and notice a creature standing a few feet away from me. I can't tell what it is from this distance, in fact the only reason I know it's there at all is because of it's glowing eyes. I take a few steps back in fear, awaiting this creature's next move. 'Maybe it's friendly,' I think to myself. I hear the creature growl. 'But then again, maybe not.'

Actions You Wish to Perform: Having never been to the Wandering Dunes I take along my Gryphorse (GryphonxXorse Hybrid) Othena. Her duller colors will help us to slip through the dunes without distrubing too many creatures, and her wings would undoubtedly come in handing for getting a lay of the land. As we make our way through the outskirts of the Grasslands and step into the Desert, it becomes quite apparent, that this is nothing like anything we've ever seen. Though the spring was coming and winter was desperately trying to cling, after taking merely a few steps onto the sanding dunes the heat was already taking it toll. I took off my coat and tucked it into Othena's saddlebag. I ushered her up a great dune, wanting to see what lay beyond this next horizon, but Othena's fleet feet wear too lean to get enough traction in the shifting sand, so without a second thought, we took the sky, looking around to see what may be seen. Down below, there was a shadow that crept behind a piece of shrubbery. I pointed toward it and the hybrid took me down to it. We landed a few feet away, hoping we didn't already frighten away the creature that had taken refuge in the rugged bush.

Kalan Petitions
Leader You Wish to Petition: Zar'inyth'ea
What You Are Offering: I have knolage to share and my artistic skill and some misolanious goodies.
Actions You Wish to Perform:
Ive decided to venture out shelter of the city of Iyore. I seek to gain the permission of the great leader Zar'inyth'ea of the star herd. For my own saftey, and sanity, I shall bring along one of my loyal friends and first pet Cail [link] he will help me along the way. I have brought my nap sack, which I have taken time and filled up with my art supplies and some goodies to offer in case I need them.

Me and Cali trek the long hike threw the many trees hills and streams. As we were getting tierd and weary from the wilderness we stoped along the way to catch a breather. When we come to a small opening of trees, near large cave and water stream many foot prints that lead into the bushes and shrubbery. We had finally had found the camp of the Star heard.

Me Cali quietly make our way to the lip of the cave looking at the many Kalan who seem to look at us, some had come out hiding, others we could feel eyeing our presence. Seeing as the cave only had one track foot prints leading in and out of it, it must be were the leader resided. Quietly I knelt before the cave pulling my nap sack close, began to pull out my offerings onto a small flat rock of 5 KP* I also pull out my SD hold it in my hand in case I could use it somehow. Cali goes quietly sits at the lip of the cave quietly observing. Softly but loudly enough *since caves echo* I speak out " May I please speak to you Great Zar'inyth'ea I wish to speak with you about seeking a member of your herd to join my own herd and home of my friends." I say kneeling back lowering my head to wait for a response glancing over at Cali and smiling reassuringly.

Zar'inyth'ea looks at you and asks you a question telepathically. Be sure to think deep about your answer.

'What is truth? Can one being's truth be falsity to another being?'

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

XXArekushisuXX In reply to SpringsofIyore [2013-03-01 08:12:25 +0000 UTC]

I look puzzled for a moment at the voice and think hard, say this quietly back as response.

The truth is something logical not always tangible or seen. Which it gives meaning to give all the facts and answers beliefs Sometimes one can choose to devote their minds and beliefs which are the truth to them, into something in which they think is real can picture. In truth there is falseness which defined as being un true or challenges the truth. In this kind world its hard to describe something as truth since for everyone thinks differently. One can be persuaded or shown facts which helps one to see the truth, but doesn't mean what they are saying is un true "false" in the eyes and minds of someone else. True and false are never-ending circle of debates on what right wrong and in between.

So yes someone can choose to think what other feels is truth can be false to someone else.

Leader You Wish to Petition: Ki'nat'anabi
What You Are Offering: Information and art/photographs/stories- See actions for further details.
Actions You Wish to Perform: As I walk back towards the open fields and forests of Iyore, leaving my home once again on a journey far from my home in the Springs, I decide to go out and petition a Kalan. I've only done this twice before, with Zar'inyth'ea and Talayeth, and I've decided to try my luck with the leader known as Ki'nat'anabi. He simply interests me, and I take this journey only with my Nightbird, Sinshir , on my shoulder. He whistles quietly for the long journey and I try to keep with his tune, singing with him from time to time, though I have to admit I'm nervous. I've brought my backpack like usual and I stop from time to time on the hike to the herd just to rest and make sure my energy is at its best.

When I get to the herd, however, I am approached by, of course, the herd leader. As is typical, they tend to do that, and I'm expected to be on my best behavior so him, so I look up and bow, even though I know the leader cannot see the physical realm.

"Hello," I start simply, hoping I haven't already screwed up. "My name is Kyler, or Ky, if you prefer, and here on my shoulder is a friend of mine, Sinshir. He is known as a Nightbird. Ki'nat'anabi, sir, I wish to have one of your herd join me on my journeys." I look up at him for any sort of reaction before continuing. "I don't..have much to offer, not that you would be interested in anyway, and I know you don't see the physical realm so it may be useless, but I'd like to offer you artwork of yourself or the fine young Kalan you might, hopefully, grant me. I can also take photographs. Of course, since you cannot see the physical realm, I also offer to write stories and read them to you, but more than anything, I would like to offer you information. I can't say what on, it would depend what you would like to know, but I am aware that you a very intelligent herd leader and you like to know information pertaining to questions you may ask other explorers who have asked for Kalans. I can be rather clumsy and sometimes I don't realize what may be common sense, but I myself am very intelligent, and I would like to offer any sort of information you may be seeking. If you have an unanswered question you may want to know, or you simply find something curious, or maybe even you seek advice, I am here to give it to you happily to the best of my knowledge."

At this I stop. I realize that I may be risking a lot coming out this far to simply say I want to give him information, but for now, this is the best offer I have. Should he reject me this time around, I will simply come back when I feel I am ready to try again. And so I wait for an answer, a question, any sort of reaction he might have to give.

I figured the art and photos might not grab his attention so I nod and sit, pulling off my backpack and looking in it at the items I possess. I pull out all my Karma Points, recounting and I have 11 of them, and I pull out my Shadow Coin as well. I also take out my Incense and my Fly Away potion. "What interest have you in coins and items?" I ask quietly, and I look up at him. "I'm not quite sure how you feel about these, but does any of this sound interesting? I have 11 Karma Points I'm willing to offer, and I have a Shadow Coin as well. I also have Incense and a Fly Away potion. You can take whatever does interest you and leave what doesn't if you think these are good items." I stare at the items for a bit, wondering what any of these might be worth to him, and then I look back up at him hoping maybe there's at least one thing he likes.

I put back the other five Karma points and the Shadow Coin, and smile. "How's this? I actually find it interesting you like my stuff so much."

Trait You Are Looking For: Dark
Item You Wish To Use: None
Time of Day: Day
Actions You Wish To Perform: After patiently waiting at the Shelter for my 24 hours to be up, I set off again at first light toward the Northern Plains. Having never been there I did not really know what to expect. After looking into the sky to check the weather, I press on alone. I have high hopes that I will get something interesting, as I planned on offereing a little extra to whatever creature I come across. I take a path north of the Wetlands and take the bridge between the Hot Pool and Deep Pond. I smell the remnants of smoke and deduce that someone must have a campfire near the Hot Pool. I decide to walk along the outskirts of the Forest of Voices, listening to the sounds of the creatures within waking from their slumber. I continue my journey along the west side of the Cold Pond and cross the bridge over the northern river, stepping off the stone structure and setting out into the flats of the Northern Plains. I make my way to the sand pit or rock pile that I saw on the map, thinking there may be something hiding there, as it is not too far from the water of the Cold Pond, and would provide a nice place to make a den of some kind.
After checking all my pockets and bag for stowaways, I press on, heading towards the dusty pile in the distance. Its not long until I reach it and make my way around it to see what can be seen. As I whip out my binoculars and shadow passes in front of the lens, and as I lowered them, I saw a creature standing before me.
