HOW TO: Get the Firefox 4.0 interface in version 3.6

You need:
_ Windows XP, Vista, or 7
_ Mozilla Firefox 3.5.x-3.6

The future version 4.0 of Firefox will change it's interface. But that's already possible to add this interface on Firefox 3.6!

Each circle and number refer to an add-on for Firefox which adds a part of the new features.
The only add-on you will have to configure is StrataBuddy, all other will be automatically set by this one.
Don't restart Firefox until all add-ons are installed!

1 - The theme itself. Download and install Strata40 . The current version will give you the 4.0 interface.

2 - Add the Firefox button, like in Office 2007 and 2010. Download and install StrataBuddy , the complement of Strata40. You will configure it in the tutorial. If you installed the beta version of Strata40, you must install the beta version of StrataBuddy too!

3 - This tab is a link to your home page. To show it, check "Show Home Tab button" in the StrataBuddy Options.

4 - The next Firefox will allow to reduce tabs in one icon. Download and install App Tabs to have the same tool. (Right click a tab and you will see a new entry called "App Tab".)

5 - To add color effect and breadcrumbs to the URL bar, use Locationbar² .

6 - To add a green line under URLs showing the page loading status, download and install Fission for Firefox 3.5-3.6 or Fission for Firefox 3.7 .

7 - To have the same effect on tabs, install Tab Progress Bar .

Then Restart Firefox, and you will see your new theme. If you want to configure it to have the same as showed, click the Firefox button and select "Theme Options". Then follow the tutorial above.

Extra:
The next Firefox Homepage will be more advanced than a Google Search. You can install New Tab Jumpstart to change blank new tabs by your most visited websites, recently closed tabs and last bookmarks, like in Google Chrome.

Notes:
All add-ons are compatible with Firefox x64, but Aero effects will not work.
If you have problem with the theme, you can try to download the latest stable version.
The Windows style I use is Sonye Theme for Win7 v2 by =giannisgx89

Configuration nécessaire :

La future version 4.0 de Firefox va radicalement changer d'interface. Il est cependant déjà possible d'avoir cette nouvelle interface dans Firefox 3.6!

Chaque cercle et chiffre renvoient à une extension de Firefox apportant une partie des nouvelles fonctions. La seule extension que vous aurez à configurer est StrataBuddy, toutes les autres étant paramétrées par cette dernière.

5 - Pour ajouter un effet de couleur et des séparateurs à la barre d'adresses, utilisez Locationbar² .

6 - Pour ajouter une ligne verte sous les adresses montrant la progression du chargement de la page, téléchargez et installez Fission for Firefox 3.5-3.6 or Fission for Firefox 3.7 .

7 - Pour avoir le même effet sur les onglets, installez Tab Progress Bar .

Ensuite, Redémarrez Firefox, et vous verrez votre nouveau thème. Si vous voulez le configurer pour avoir le même qu'affiché, cliquez sur le bouton Firefox et sélectionnez "Theme Options".

Extra:
La prochaine page d'accueil de Firefox, bien que non définie pour l'instant, sera plus avancée qu'un champ de recherche Google. Vous pouvez installer New Tab Jumpstart pour changer les nouveaux onglets vierges par vos sites les plus visités, onglets récemment fermés et derniers marque-pages, comme dans Google Chrome.

Notes:
Toutes les extensions sont compatible avec x64, mais les effets Aero ne s'appliqueront pas.
Si vous avez des problèmes avec le thème, vous pouvez essayer de télécharger la dernière version stable.
