"What's the Matter?"
Finally! With Thanksgiving last week and me getting ill AGAIN, this page got delayed a week. The backgrounds took quite some time to assemble and I had to draw up some new elements for things like the pond that we get to see for the first time EVER. So many vector points! Even with my new system things were slow going. I could just image what it would have been like trying to get this finished on my old computer!

I did some research on Muskrats on how they lived. I learned that they essentially made their homes buried under land along water shores or in "dams" on the water. I thought originally to go with that, but the way they entered and left their homes was through the water and I thought that wouldn't be practical for anthropomorphic animals. So, I nestled their homes within the land close to pond-side and had them use doors like everybody else.

We're with Orange, since it seemed to be the best deal according to Dad - even so, BT seems to control all the lines.

There's a lot of wireless options, but only one cable broadband landline option, which is the fastest. They're Comcast and that's who I have but they charge an arm and a leg for it. I don't need lightning speed internet, but I've just been putting it off. Changing that is, to a wireless service like Centurylink that is more than 50% cheaper!

Does Orange include wireless? There's certainly a light for it on the router, and an aerial.

Hmm, I guess. We don't have Orange here, or at least I haven't heard of it. If you get your internet through the air, then yeah you got wireless. It's not as fast as a broadband cable line, but for the average person it's fast enough. You can still do video watching and things of that nature without any delay.

Oh, I spent months making all those assets back when I was animating this. So most of those things were in my flash libraries. I did have to make a few new things just for the comic side though, plus I had to reassemble all the backgrounds for the panels. Thanks!

You'll learn more about it as time goes on. There's been a lot of things that has happened in his young life that at one point made him really depressed.

I remember someone saying in one of the comments about how it's interesting that you colour their eyes black with white irises where most artists do the opposite.
I personally think this style is cool and really shows.

When I went and simplified the characters, I wanted to keep them small mammal looking and if you look at most small mammals they have all black eyes. Eye direction however is important, so I decided to make the shine of the eyes their pupil so you always knew where they were looking. Thanks!

I think I'm finally starting to get over whatever the hell this sickness is. It's like it never figured out what it wanted to be and just made me really tired all the time and gave me post-nasal drip throughout and waking up with a soar and dry roof of the mouth. It sucks, but right now I feel a bit more normal than usual. Yeah, those background elements, let me tell you. I spent months making those back when I was animating this thing, so you better believe I'm going to reuse the hell out of them!

Oh, damn. D8 I had no idea you were still sick! I assumed you were busy with other things. No wonder you didn't change that Ickypoo blog yet (I did lol at the title though, hahaha xD).
But yeah man, that's great! :3 Visually it looks like one of the best backgrounds in the comic so far! It really adds to the genuine feel of location to the series. Keep it up, man.
