The guardians finally show up and we get to see the caravan leader, Rurik, along with Emeline, Greenwater and the Fortress' chief surgeon. We also get to see a little insight to what many of the residents of Greenwater really think of their protectors.

All you got to do is go back to page 5 and I think you'll figure it out. Jacque isn't too fond of having Killskerry ride in his cart, now he's got 2 ladies he's got to ride with all the way to Harmoney's Vale.

I see that the Guardians are not always respectded.
Oh, and there another new character, a female by the look of it.
THe guardian in the fourth panels in the most insteresting, with his earring, eye patch, and dare I say it, Dread?"
Oh, and he's in full plate armor too. Is that Rurik?

Yep, that's be Rurik, hence why Emeline says "Thank you, Rurik" when he helps her down from the cart.
You'll find out throughout the story that throughout the years the village folk's opinions of the guardians have diminished because of their recent behaviors.
