For me, one of the biggest inspirational characters in my life impacted me in a very profound way when I was a girl. While this show is not mainstream and my generation may not have even heard of it, its quite close to my heart. I love the way that this family, despite all their struggles during the great depression, love each other and support each other. John-Boy was and still is one of my absolute favorites, his portrayal by Richard Thomas was superb, his character was interesting and relatable. And for me, he inspired me to write.
