Im currently in high school and i sometimes show my art teacher my artworks, shes quite nice, she doesnt really comment on what the picture is of, she just comments on the actual art aspects such as the shading, anatomy and highlighting. She's a nice teacher and honestly i dont think you should have a problem with high school, I do get a lot of comments from my art from other people, but luckily i have another art friend with me who draws pretty much the same, shes a furry, and she draws a lot of warrior cats. People don't tend to come up to us and tell us we're drawing wrong things, but quite a few have, they're weirded out by us. There are a few nice people out there, its just trying to find the right ones to hang out with, trust me, you'll be fine. If anyone tells you you're not doing art 'right' by drawing furries, then just keep in mind they're most likely jealous, most likely havent even tried art. Art is not meant to be right or wrong, everyone can draw whatever they want. Art is where you can let your creativity flow, not where you follow a set and strict project of humans and other realistic things. They don't understand that, they dont understand that art is free, but dont let that hold you down. Don't worry, you're doing the exact right thing, you're doing something and drawing something that makes you happy. Don't let them keep you down, and if it goes too far report them to a teacher. People should be accepting to others and shouldn't treat you like this, someone needs to be told to hopefully put an end to this. You're not doing anything wrong, you're doing what you love. Don't let them make you think otherwise. As i said earlier, they're probably jealous that you can actually draw. Most of them probably only know how to draw lobsided stick figures, i bet. You're doing what you love, dont let anyone else change your view on that. Furries are not wrong, they're the ones wrong. Continue doing whatever art you want, they're nothing but horrible misunderstanding people who have nothing better to do with their lives than to pester you.

I am not sure how to give an appropiate advice, as furries isn't a thing people here in my country even care about. They do not really care if you are a furry or not but it is a different story for the LGBT+ side.

What I can say is, just continue doing what you love to do and ignore those who tries to bring you down. If you love being a furry, just continue to do so. It is not illegal like stealing or murder, so why worry about it?
Just remember that we are still here to support you here even though you might not have the same support irl.

To be honest, I am disappointed on how the community deemed "furries" now days. Associating them with animal fuckers/yiffing/beastiliaty when not all a furries are like that. Furries are much more that that and should not receive hate. It is the same on how much the word "feminist" has changed so much. It used to be to refer something/someone who supports gender equality. But now it seems that those who called themselves "feminist" is targeting others, saying that women are superior that men and should be treated in a royal-like way. Which has nothing to do with gender equality.

But anyway, just continue doing what you love. I know how it feels in a similar way by being part of the LGBT+ community in a not-friendly country.

People sometimes call my characters furries too, and i fear that my art teacher will also dislike me for the things i love drawing. And, my cousin also criticizes me for being a furry. But this is what we love doing. To me, it makes me feel better knowing that i am able to draw animals the way i want to and it even makes me feel better when i vent.
no one should have the ability to lable someone as a 'furry'. Something is up their parents if people think its funny to hate on someone and crush their source of happiness.
(this is also something i wanted to vent about too, so sorry if im bothering you with this comment)
dont let those people and your cousin get to you. Keep doing what you like doing and ignore their negative comments.
