As much as I can. Work is eating tons of time and energy and being married just devours most of what's left. Right now I have about two hours every day during which I can write. I can't do all-nighters at all any more as I used to either.

Proof-reading takes time as well. I've just finished proofing chapter 41 which is going up on Patreon NOW.

Well for me its not the wait between chapters as it is the uncertainty, whether an update is coming this month or 6 months from now. As long as theirs some schedule I don't obsessively check to see if a new post as come unannounced, something I found out about myself while waiting for return dates on numerous shows. Knowing when they come back pretty much solves my issues.

How about you have you felt like that?

By the way did you ever say you're married (congrats) as that seems new?

Thanks! Yeah, it's still relatively new. Uni is behind me now. Now its work from nine to six to make the mortgage payments. I'm working hard to arrive at a point where I can reliably do all the things I want done. But you know, every now and then a biggie comes along and fucks up your schedule. Or you simply burn out and have to do something else for a while. That's why there's no steady output. Writing these different parallel storylines that increasingly affect each other is a challenge to stay on top of. I'm madly creative, but when the batteries run dry there's only so much you can do outside of hallucinogenic drugs - and I don't do drugs. Likewise, when my wife says "jump" all I can do is ask "how high?"

(Whoever came up with the idea that we live in a patriarchy has clearly never been married.)

That being said, I know the feeling you describe. I've been waiting for Winds of Winter like everybody else. I wish I could pump out more content, really do. My wife suggested I cut out a day from work and spend it writing. That way, I might even do all-nighters again (a good night can be tremendously productive). But that's not possible unless I can compensate the income, somehow. I hate that, but that's how it is right now.

There's simply no way to pump out chapters with a sustained schedule, as nice as that would be. I do my best to make announcements beforehand, but, somewhat like murphy's law, I can almost never keep the release dates because I get last minute ideas I want to integrate, something somewhere goes horribly wrong and so forth. Glad to see you still following the story, though! Thanks a lot.
