Metal Sonic then takes the remains of Eggman's empire for himself and aims to find the other power gem cores, and takes Sonic's life away from him to make it his own as he now sees himself as the real Sonic. Hero Story (Sonic, Tails, Sally, Amy, Silver and Blaze): During the night, a meteor containing a power gem core crash lands outside of Tails’ Workshop. Later that morning, Tails hands Sonic the gem he found as they along with Sally and Nicole head towards Metal City for the World Grand Prix. Soon the three are then attacked by Eggman robots which the four barely escape from. They soon meet up with Amy, Silver and Blaze who also found a similar power gem and discover that the Eggman robots are after the power gems, not just Sonic. While making their way into Eggman’s facility, they discover that the power gem cores were created by the Babylonians to power the ultimate starship to travel the universe: Babylon Garden. When they find that the power gems are being gathered at Neo Tower, the two groups head over there bumping into The Babylon Rogues as well as Shadow, Rouge and Knuckles along the way. Jet then decides to take the opportunity to finally put an end to the rivalry between him and Sonic and declares that the first one to get the control center in Neo Tower gets all the power gem cores and the title of Fastest thing in the universe. Sonic accepts as the four teams then race to Neo Tower. Babylon Story (Jet, Wave, Storm, Shadow, Rouge and Knuckles): The Rogues steal a power gem that gives Jet the power over Gravity which re-sparks his rivalry with Sonic and the rogues set out to find the others, especially when they learn that they originated from the ancient Babylonians. They soon discover that G.U.N is also searching for the power gems and have a run-in with their top agents: Shadow, Rouge and Knuckles. They soon discover that Dr Eggman is not in control of his own empire right now and some else has been searching for the power gem cores. Both groups' power gem cores are then stolen by Neo Metal Sonic and taken to Neo Tower. They meet up with both Team Heroes and Team Future along the way with Sonic and Jet finally decides to settle their rivalry by a race to see who can get to the control center first as the twelve teens then speed off into Neo Tower. Final Story: Sonic manages to win the race, but as soon as all four teams enter the room, they are all electrocuted by Metal Sonic and take the remaining power gem cores and take them as well as Tails and Sally to the Babylon Garden. Sonic and Jet pursue him as Metal Sonic unveils his plan to Robotize the world so he can be the hero instead of Sonic as he sees him as the fake. Metal Sonic then fuses with all the power gem cores and becomes the Metal Overlord. Sonic and Jet (with some help from Wave, Storm, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Silver and Blaze) fight him but only manage to annoy him. In a last ditch effort, Sonic tries to absorb the power of the power gem cores and manages to become Super Sonic as the Metal Overlord then becomes Neo Metal Sonic and the final battle begins. Super Sonic manages to defeat Metal and save the world but the power gem cores were destroyed to ensure that no one would ever abuse their power again.
