Description I have been messing around with photos of myself, trying to come up with a new avatar - and, instead, I get this. It looks goofy at 50x50, so back to the drawing board...

Thanks. This piece just kind of went "plop" right out of my head into finished product in a couple of minutes. I was really surprised that it turned out as good as it did.

Yes. Stare at the avatar. The avatar is your friend. It will put your ass right in a trance, that's for sure. Something about the timing of the loop, I do believe. The pulse of the animation must be something close to the frequency of some people's brainwaves; when I noticed that I was staring at it for like ten minutes while I was working on it, I knew I was done, hehe.

Like the grainy touch to it. Gives the whole scene this extra touch of class. Also good poses man

Thanks, I appreciate your feedback. I have never considered myself a photographer, which gives me all sorts of freedom to do stupid stuff with a camera and never feel the slightest twinge of shame, lol.

Sony digital camera, held at arm's length, the only lighting is from my monitor (you can actually see the monitor in my eyes). 2 consecutive shots; they were very dark, and they became grainy once i pumped up the contrast and added some brightness (I dig graininess too). Composited the two heads, desaturated, and then hand-painted the eyes. 5 minutes? Maybe, could have been less.

Shameless!
