please excuse my ignorance but how can I use something like this. they are very nice and cool and I love to be able to use them I just don't know how.

Well to use the windows icon version, you simply save the ICO file somewhere, right click on the shortcut to whatever program you wish to use this icon for, select properties, change icon. Then select browse and find where you saved the ICO file. Finally, just click OK to everything and you are set. If you have any sort of dock program (like ObjectDock for example) you can download the dock icon version [link] and use the PNG image for your dock. Hopefully that answers your question.
