THAT is an AMAZING shot!
As others have said, it's all about the emotion. The angle of the face, the direction of the eyes, the slight tension of the lips, and the harsh lighting on the upper bust... heck, even the simple, tight shirt: you nailed this shot.
The *ONLY* flaw here is the grain in the shadows. (Digital cam?)
