Ivystorm was restless, though the CloudClan deputy had no idea as to why. She was being basically smothered by her loving mates Soulfrost and Phantommask, Ivystorm appreciated their love and company. She found herself huddling closer to them, giving a silent purr. One of them woke slightly to look at her in tired concern, before sleep took them again.

The tall tabby sighed before getting up once she was certain both of her mates were sound asleep again. She quickly yet quietly padded out of the den, the snow covered stone beneath her paws was cold to the touch. Ivystorm never really minded the cold, even after her incident of being caught in a storm back when she was a young warrior. She adapted and was more resilient to the chill of Leaf-Bare, with help from having a very thick coat.

Once she entered the clearing of CloudClan’s camp, her eyes adjusted to the area basked in the gentle light of the moon. Ivystorm looked up with a smile, there was barely a cloud in sight. She could see the stars easily, at least that meant there would be no surprise snowfall that night. Ivystorm couldn’t help but turn her head to the sound of voices then quick pawsteps near the entrance of camp.

Ivystorm’s guard went up as she whipped her head towards the direction of the noises. She could see the fleeting form of… Floodspirit? Ivystorm was taken by surprise by the sight.

Why was Floodspirit up so late? She thought to herself before finding herself going after him. However, she was quickly stopped by a familiar cat. Ivystorm smiled slightly, looking at Blizzardwatcher in slight worry.

“Do you know what he is doing?” Ivystorm asked Blizzardwatcher, assuming her aunt knew where Floodspirit was going. Her aunt seemed to know what was going on half of the time due to her hobby of hanging around the camp’s waterfall, even if it was frozen in Leaf-Bare.

Ivystorm could hear the light and gentle laugh of her aunt, seeing a small smile forming on Blizzardwatcher’s maw. “He is going to try and collect some herbs, nothing to worry about Ivystorm.” She said in a soft and reassuring tone, trying to comfort Ivystorm’s apparent worry for her kit.

The deputy shifted a little, looking towards the entrance of camp. “Alone? In the middle of Leaf-Bare? He should be bringing Mudpaw and a warrior with him at the least!” Ivystorm quickly responded, in slight confusion and suspicion. Blizzardwatcher shuffled slightly, sitting down next to Ivystorm.

“Sit with me, Ivystorm. I know you are worried, but I know he won't get into any trouble out there. He knows to not stray too far from camp, if it helps. I can go with him if you’d like?” Blizzardwatcher offered, looking to Ivystorm reassuringly and with love present in her gentle gaze. Ivystorm found herself relaxing a little more before nodding.

“I know you would keep him safe, Blizzardwatcher. That would give me peace of mind if you’d join him.” Ivystorm nodded slightly before giving a small smile. Blizzardwatcher purred to her niece and returned a gentle smile of her own.

“Good, you should get some rest now. There is much to be done once dawn breaks.” Blizzardwatcher then got to her paws. Ivystorm smiled and nodded. “Alright, yeah.” Ivystorm nodded before turning towards her den. However she could not help but feel suspicious of why Floodspirit was going off collecting herbs in the middle of Leaf-Bare, and so randomly as well.

Ivystorm paused for a moment, and turned to look out of the den one last time. A realization soon hit her.

Wait… Floodspirit had brought Mudpaw out earlier that day also to collect herbs…

The CloudClan deputy was about to turn around again but she heard a gentle, yet tired voice speak from behind her.

“Ivystorm, you should come to rest. You need sleep, it’s getting late.” She heard the concerned voice of one of her mates. Ivystorm sighed to herself silently, another time. She purred in response, not saying anything as she cuddled back into her nest with Soulfrost and Phantommask.

While she was growing suspicious of Floodspirit’s random nightly herb collection patrols while seemingly alone. She would have to put it off for now, as sleep was finally calling her. Ivystorm found herself asleep in moments once covered by the warmth of her mates.

Ivystorm catching Floodspirit going supposedly on a late night herb collection trip. As she grows suspicious of the act, she is pulled aside for a conversation by her aunt Blizzardwatcher. They both talked, but Ivystorm still found herself both concerned for Floodspirit and questioning his intentions.
