Long before even the most advanced races of the Coalition even existed in their current states of evolution, the Gravisapien came into being within a dimension that runs parallel to our own. Formed from pure Gravitational energy that somehow coalesced into a sapient state, these ancient beings have watched through probe devices and remote drones for countless millenia as other races gradually came to fill the universe.

It was only within the last thousand years or so that the Gravisapiens perfected the construction of their "Shells." Containment devices that allow them to keep their gravitational forces in check through energy fields whilst also doubling as corporeal bodies that allowed them to explore beyond their energy dimension and enter the physical universe. Since then they have constructed a planet sized observation station that functions as their home world.

Extremely long lived and intelligent in levels beyond all other known life, the Gravisapien possess technology that at times can either bend or outright break the known laws of physics. Logical and priding themselves on efficiency they will happily make large adjustments to their techniques or create incredible new machinery if it means they could shave even a fraction of a second off of their usual working times.

As a society, the Gravisapiens follow a Caste system formed by the constant evaluation and re-evaluation of the intellect of every individual within their collective. The more intelligent a Gravisapien is the higher up the ladder they will be and they will be placed into one of the following Castes dependant on their levels in order from greatest to lowest intellect:

Scientist: The smartest of the Gravisapiens are the scientists. The ruling council that decides their societies actions is formed from the 10 smartest of these super genius level beings. Wearing high tech, custom modded shells and emblazoned in Gold identifying accents, the scientists will constantly be developing new technology and studying everything from celestial bodies to other life forms.

Engineers: Large, strongly built with a Purple color scheme, the Engineers are the 2nd highest caste. What the scientists design, the Engineers will make reality, as they use their advanced shells and the tools within them to produce intricate machines.

Soldiers: Trained extensively in combat, weaponry and tactics. The Soldier Caste is marked in Red. Their duties will include security as well as full on military action in defence of their home station.

Recon: Colored Blue, the Recon caste is not technically a ranked caste. Drawn from the youth of the Gravisapiens, from the ages of around 100 to 800 years. The Recon units take advantage of their youths natural curiosity to explore the universe and bring back data and samples for the Scientists to study. As these young Gravisapiens age, they will eventually outgrow their Recon shells and be evaluated for their permanent caste position.

Maintenance: With a bright Orange stripe running across their low tech shells, this is the lowest a Gravisapien can be. Members of this caste are those who have either been evaluated far lower than average in intelligence, have been punished for considerable error, or suffer from defects that hamper their intellect. These workers exist to repair and maintain the home station and everything upon it, there have been reports of higher castes at best ignoring these workers, or at worst abusing them physically or vocally...

Whilst the upper castes are always changing as individuals are re-evaluated and move up or down, the sad truth is that those who fall into Maintenance very rarely manage to claw their way back out.

Gravisapiens seem logical and cold on the outside, but they do have the capability to feel emotions, however strong emotional responses and "quirks" are considered defects amongst their kind and those that have such reactions will often do their best to hide them from their peers.

Since their arrival in the physical universe the Gravisapiens witnessed the arrival of the Mekkari and the initial attack on their home station, whilst repelled, convinced these advanced beings to assist the newly forming Galactic Coalition in an attempt to stop galactic genocide and thus in their eyes, the removal of unique and interesting species worthy of study. For this scientifically driven reason they have now joined and offered their incredible technology and efficiency to M.E.T.E.O.R and it's allies.
