Description Before any assumptions.....Im not racist. This is my depiction of what our country wants to do with homeland security. I think it seems fascist. They seem like the only innocent people are the ones that live here. There has been many instances where they arrest minorities/foreigners and find them guilty till proven innocent. And they arent treated with human rights. They are abusive to them and unfair. They should not assume everyone coming to America is a fucking terrorist and if they do they could at least treat them with respect and give them the rights granted to Americans when it comes to laywers and law.

Looks good, they are closet racists, if not really Nazis.

Don't misconstrue this, but I have to disagree.
This isn't the usual type of war, this one on terrorism. It's based not on worldly reason, but a radical view of the Muslim religion, in which they must eradicate all the heretics of other religions.
At least from my understanding. I don't think the majority of Muslims are like this, it's just the way the terror seems to be organized that justifies this wariness.
Maybe it's not my business, but I had to get my say in.

Lets think about this logically, shall we?

The Department of Homeland Security is run by the Jewish Michael Chertoff, and he used his clout to help scores of suspected Israeli spies and terrorists escape any kind of sentence or even investigation. Additionally, the Bush administration is probably the most pro-jewish admin we've ever see.

So already the metaphor's pretty f'cked.

The DHS is definitely pro-mexican on the other hand... they do their best to hamper border control efforts, and there've been hundreds of recorded, documented incursions by the mexican military that Michael Chertoff publicly dismissed.

Now... muslims... yeah... are fucked by it. Of course, once you realize how fawning the admin is towards Israel, its pretty darn obvious. Of course, pointing out that Chertoff is jewish and so forth instantly puts one into the realm of conspiracy theorists.

So just think about it...

yes... being a visible minority (asian) i can completely sympathize with the political motivation behind this poster. Yet, i cannot even begin to comprehend how hard it is for Arabs living in western nations. Historically speaking, the prejudice and discrimination facing Arabs today looks awfully like the segregation imposed upon blacks during the turn of the century. Already, i have heard some of my arab friends use terrorist as a slang... awful like the way black people now refer to themselves as "niggers" with pride. America should know better... and prevent history from repeating itself.

That is pretty disgusting to use it as a slang. And yes America should know better. Half of us did not vote for Bush, and disagree with him 100% with passion. The things he is trying to put into action are crazy in this century. Look how hard it is for the ones living in sudan? And the richest nation does nothing.

Nice. It is so wierd that All these people from all these places I don't even know exist are into American politics or at least know all about it. Sadly. alot of it is because we affect the world. Anything bad we do affects everyone. It is sad how ignorant Americans are, including myself. We like only have one sided media and only hear what the President cares about and rarely get to take a look outside the border of the country at world news.

Its true that America's policy much affects everyone outside her borders, directly and indirectly, and that many Americans probably aren't aware of just how much. But, don't worry, Americans aren't the only ones not imune to ignorance.
Seems to me the better the people somewhere live, the less they're interested to know about those around them.

I guess. I like knowing about the world around me. It just is astonishing how big things never make news here in the state. Like Iraq made news because we were selfishly drawn towards there and started a war. But look at places such as sudan, a place I recently just found out about within this year, about its long genocide history. I find it horrible that most people in America have no clue about this. We get one sided media and that is it. We barely see what is going on in Iraq. When other countries get to see the horrible pictures we dont.

I'm curious, what is with your independent media? I know, medias are always under goverment censorship, my country was till up to four years under a great political censorship (we only had one major tv house), but you are one of the greatest country when it comes to media. Does independent media side differs from those not independent?

StareDecisis In reply to alenq [2004-10-23 18:01:08 +0000 UTC]

Well we dont really have independent media on tv. The only place to find underground media is through the internet. And that differs alot. It will show all sides. It will show the things the major news station is afraid to show.

Well, it's strange that you live in US and you don't know what's happening in Guantanamo, US base... This tells a lot about the way US government controls information system...

Ya american media is only concerned about making money, not giving the facts and wutnot

I actually sorta work for a small news company, and just at the low level it's really screwwed up

like everything that u hear is like 10% truth and the rest is made up or totally twisted, like leaving key facts out to make a story more interesting, or to make osmeone look bad

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StareDecisis In reply to Cracell [2004-04-02 01:54:19 +0000 UTC]

agreed. They always seem to make the media one sided. We need more liberal media on tv. We need the opposition media to keep things level, to give people the choice of making up which is the right choice.
