Card done for Eileen's birthday, April 2017.
Eileen has settle on cute baby animals for her cards now. Last year she wanted a panda cub and this year she wanted a wolf cub. Becca found a picture she loved and recommended it as the choice.
Done with polychromos pencils and built up in layers, utilising my pressure application and layering techniques, the picture consists of 22 colours.
The cub's eye was done with white, dark sepia and black.
The nose was done with violet, Payne's grey, cinnamon, black and cold grey 1.
The muzzle was done with white, ivory, violet, nougat, Payne's grey, black and arm grey 4.
The ears were done with nougat, Payne's grey, cinnamon, black, cold grey 6, warm grey 1 and warm grey 5.
The cub's head and body were done with white, ivory, dark sepia, walnut brown, nougat, bistre, Payne's grey, siena natur ochre, Venetian red, black, cold grey 6, warm grey 1, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
The rocky ground was done with white, ivory, permanent green olive, earth green, dark sepia, nougat, bistre, Payne's grey, siena natur ochre, Venetian red, black, cold grey 1, cold grey 6, warm grey 3, warm grey 5 and burnt siena.
Finally, the unfocused background was done with ivory, grass green, permanent green olive, earth green, siena natur ochre, warm grey 1, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
Completion time: 39 hours.
