Starfire-Productions' Anniversary Art GiveawayHi everyone Hope you're all doing well and coping with the summer heat. I know some folks like it but it's not for me. However, one good thing about the summer is that I get to celebrate a special anniversary and as a bit of fun I'm going to share part of that celebration with my watchers. This year I'm going to host a free draw for my watchers who've supported me in 2022 by giving one of you a free art commission. Yep, you read that right, a free commission. You're all familiar enough with my gallery to know what sort of work I do and one of you will get to choose what you want me to do for your project. Please bare in mind that I will not do any of the following: anime characters or anything anime in general, fetish art or MLP art. However, knowing that a lot of my watchers are also Disney fans, as much as I don't like the style, I will allow it for this draw So, how do you enter this competition? Well it's really easy. You have to be a current watcher who has supported me in 2022 and been a watcher for at least a month. All you have to do is reply in the comments below that you want to be a part of this. I will assign a number to each person as they comment and add it to this journal. If you just comment with 'thanks' or 'thanks for the mention', I'll assume you haven't read the journal as it won't appear in your DA feed, and don't want to be entered. That's it. I will tag everyone I can in the comments to let you know this is happening and give you the chance to take part. No worries if you don't - better odds for those who do Some of you can't be tagged because of your settings and that's cool too. Hopefully you'll find this anyway. At the end of August I will use a random number generator to select the winner and they get their free commission. You will get a digital copy immediately and the actual physical artwork will be posted to you as well. Project for a colleague at work who was leaving and moving away to start anew in another part of the country. She was always fun to work with and I wanted to draw one of her favourite animals so I did this and framed the picture for her as a leaving gift.
Animals are always fun and tigers are one of my two favourite subjects of all time so this one was a win-win for me. I also wanted to do something slightly different from my other pictures so this time I settled for a tigress and her cub.
Lots of colour, lots of layering and the myriad tiny details made this a really fun piece from start to finish.
Done with polychromos pencils and built up in layers, utilising my pressure application and layering techniques, the picture consists of 21 colours.
The tigress' head was done with white, ivory, dark flesh, raw umber, brown ochre (light), light ochre, black, warm grey 2 and warm grey 4.
Her body was done with white, ivory, raw umber, brown ochre (light) sanguine, black, warm grey 1, warm grey 2 and warm grey 4.
Her front legs were done with white, ivory, brown ochre (light), black, warm grey 2 and warm grey 4.
The cub's head was done with white, ivory, brown ochre (light), black, warm grey 2 and warm grey 4.
His body was done with ivory, raw umber and warm grey 4.
His front legs were done with ivory, brown ochre (light), black and warm grey 4.
The foliage and branches were done with white, light yellow glaze, earth green yellowish, May green, nougat, bistre, light ochre, warm grey 1 and warm grey 2.
The foreground rocks were done with white, ivory, Van Dyck brown, bistre, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 6.
The background rocks were done with white, raw umber, Venetian red, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 6.
Finally, the leaf and twig covered ground was done with white, ivory, Van Dyck brown, nougat, bistre, brown ochre (light), cinnamon, Venetian red, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 6.

Completion time: 43 hours, 17 minutes
