Description So, I decided to make a stamp, and I wanted to make one that brings attention to something I feel strongly about. I was going to make a HRC stamp, but I was very disappointed by some of the Human Rights Campaign's recent decisions regarding transgendered people.

I am still very supportive of their efforts for gay/bi/lesbian rights, but transgenered people, as well as intersexed people, are human, too. Human rights mean ALL people, not just the people it's easiest to lobby for. I may not be transgendered myself (I am a lesbian, though) but that doesn't stop me from knowing that a transgendered person is no different from you or me: we all bleed the same, we laugh the same, we cry the same, we love the same.

When are people going to learn that no matter what differences we have on the outside, it's what's under the skin and in the heart that counts?

Let's not forget this verbatim from the US pledge

"with liberty and justice for ALL."

With problem like this in US this is why I don't say the pledge, just stand up and remove my hat.

I'm a straight Christan, but as far as I'm concerned on issues like this is: Whatever floats your boat. It doesn't interfere with my life. Why should I interfere with someone else's?

If we didn't have clones or cloning, then we'll never get to see Mammoths in this day and age.

Well, I would like to see a mammoth... but I'm still afraid of clones of sentient beings. That just sounds like it'll go wrong. xD

I get that way when watching something in Japanese. Just watch it with subtitles or captions. That's what I do.

Optimus Prime usually talks pretty slow in English. Good luck, though.

I am straight and a Christian, but I am adding this to my journal as I truly believe that everyone has rights and has choices. God loves everyone...no matter what
I don't frown upon anyone for who they are, nor judge them. I don't want people judging me...who are they to judge and who am I to judge?

This is an awesome stamp!

Got to love the message.
THe age-old foundation this country was built on:'equality'. First, it was really 'all Caucasian males are equal' then the same, including African-Americans...then 'they' realized, 'hey, women aren't stupid and useless! And they're like, half of the population! Why not include them?!" So they did. Now, all STRAIGHT people are equal--what a victory. Right? Sooner or later, we'll come to our senses and realize that EVERYBODY is equal.. Lesbians, bisexuals, homosexuals, transsexuals, transgenders, objectumsexuals, (I have no idea how to spell that!!) and everybody else! Of every race, religion, orientation, social status...
We are pigs. We are stupid. We are learning.. We the same. WE ARE HUMAN.

...Sorry... But did you think you were the only one who could make a speech? Lol.

Cesar-sama [2009-04-03 19:13:21 +0000 UTC]

*sniff* Beautiful speech...

I am an FTM transsexual (but still straight), so I really reacted to this. In a good way.

Bad thing is, I have the most homophobic parents anyone will meet. They resent my transsexuality, and cheer whenever they win so-called "victories" over gay marriage (i.e. the passage of amendment 2 in Florida).

One time, when I attended a Gay-Straight Alliance meeting at my school, they really gave me hell. I called them homophobic, and you know what they said? "We're not homophobic. We just think that they (gays) are immoral, abnormal, and disgusting." They also spoke the same way of the Gay-Straight Alliance itself, too, calling it an "immoral organization".

Sorry about that...

Anyway, I plan to get a subscription soon, so I'll definitely use this if I do! Great job!!

I strongly agree with this stamp.

I don't understand what makes them think that transgendered are any less human.

Awesome! I only wish more people were so open-minded.

Kittenbasket In reply to StarlightCorvina [2008-06-20 19:56:25 +0000 UTC]

I definitely agree.

I had brought up the topic of transsexuals, transgendered people, and queer-gendered people to a few of my friends who are okay with homosexuals and bisexuals, and said they thought being transgendered is wrong, and that sex changes should be banned. I got angry, and got in a big debate about it. I bring up controversial topics a lot with my friends, so it's not rare for me to drag others into a debate if I'm not afraid of them, and if they're friends I usually have the guts to go full force and pwn them.
