This is a nice tutorial. I've never really used channels much but they seem easier to use than a lasso tool for selecting things in lineart.

This was one of the tutorials that helped me on my way to becoming a better digi artist and i REALLLLLLLY thank you for that! But this leaves only one flaw that wasn't mentioned that I am yearning to learn how to do. Naruto's headband is black, what if i wanted to make it a shade of blue? how would i go about doing that without actually coloring on the lineart layer?

that is also one thing i wanna learn like other digi-artist do... my theory is most digi-artist do paint over the linert to do that kind of "painted" look like paintpixel does but that is just a theory... if you want to just change the color of the bandana which is entirely in black... you can change its color by using the lasso tool... then go to the lineart layer and selct the region you want to change the colors and then press CTRL+U then choose "colorize" then play with the sliders in it... that is the simple trick to it if you dont want to paint over the lineart... the actual digi-painting is for me an advanced type of coloring like most professionals do so practice and patience is really a virtue.

you can get backgrounds from images that you can paste as a bg for your work but the one i used here is actually a brush for photoshop... yes, there are brushes you can get online to add for your photoshop brushes collection...
