i wanted to make something of a planet being wrapped in cloud...the clouds don't look terribly good so i'm uploading this to see if anyone can give me tips on how to improve this. i like the planet though, lot's and lot's of layers never failsRelated content

I think the nebula-like clouds would be much more realistic .

Id have to go with erendor here, i think it's probably because they're too bright, where's all the light coming from? but, more the problem is probably because they're far too opaque >.>...at the top right (where it looks really translucent on the edge) is where it looks the best, much better than the rest of the clouds

ok, the cloud idea was cool, and i have just had a thought...as i can't make that sort of cloud translucent coz it's meant to be thick and engulfing, but it's too bright, i could make a thin cloud that's dark and yellowey and more see through like nebula cloud

I agree, the planet looks very good. And the clouds...not quite sure what their problem is, perhaps they're too bright? But they look unrealistic compared to the planet. (Maybe it's just the whole seeing clouds in space that makes it look odd).
I still like the overall piece, though.

hmm, they are too bright, i never thought of that...and clouds in space carent uncommon, like dust and gas clouds of things and yes, they look most unrealistic
