Description Super spooky skeletons.

Partly for a freelance project, partly for personal entertainment.

Still very rough. I intend to fix it soon, and add more details.

Any feedback is very much appreciated, as I really need to get better with anatomy! Thanks for looking!

(Also, I should add in, download for a picture that's a lot bigger and better!)

Humerus and Femur should be longer. The lover angle of the scapula should be at the second head mark. And the Os Coxae should be taller (especially considering that it's a male skeleton). Also give more gesture to the hand bones - there are many beautiful curves and proportions here, but you just make this are blocky and boring. Keep it going, I would be glad to see the final result

Hey Vir-Norin, thanks a bunch for the feedback!

I can scale up those bones and make tweaks; it shouldn't be too difficult. The hands and feet are still rough block out shapes (standard block primitives) so those will be patched up as well. I wasn't aware the scapula went down that far, so I'll definitely check out more reference and hopefully fix that.

Thanks a bunch, and I hope to have the model done soon!

Yeah, after posting a comment I've download a high-res and notice that his hands are only in a blocking stage.
Where do you take a references for this sculpt? Just a Google search? I remember making my own Skeleton studies and my biggest sources were Goldfinger and Roger Peck books.

Ah, most of my references were the first couple images on a Google search. I also used the zygotebody website, but other than that, not too terribly much. (Kind of hurts inside to admit that....)

Do you have any books or sources you'd recommend, other than the ones you listed?

This two are my favorite. Especially Goldfingers one - it's almost a medical anatomy catalog, but adapted for artists. You will find very comprehensive description and illustrations of every muscle and bone so I doubt that for a regular skeleton study you need anything more complicated. But if that so - I recommend to make rather a research within medical books category. I also mentioned Stephen Rogers Peck - Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist because it's illustrations are more artistic rather than Goldfingers (his drawings are more schematic), so it will help you more to understand the actual shapes. I really cannot remember any other books for artists, concentrated on anatomy in a such high level... only one or two, but they are on Russian.

Sorry for super late reply! >.<

I remember seeing the Atlas of Human Anatomy at a friend's place, and frequently steal it.

I've never really heard of the Goldfingers books or any of the others, but I'll definitely check them out! I mean, I can't read Russian, but I'm guessing the pictures would be a pretty good help.

Are we really that stubby?

Probably not :/ I need to make it more elegant and less stumpy. Thanks for the input though!
