how did u get systray in rightclick to work?
mine never works :/

StopDreaming In reply to invaderjohn [2008-08-17 14:20:40 +0000 UTC]
Thx for the desk, but it's just a fruit of your work!
lol for right click, I dunno, never encountered had problems with it.
Dumb question, but have you got the last version of rightclick?
For rightclick systray options, I've checked "enable filtering" (and chosen what I wanted to shiw/hide) "expand the systray", "automatically recontract the tray when not in use" & "expand/contract Button enabled".
Hey, have you seen all the links to your pages I've put in my deviations?
You're the best VS maker!

Be carefull, invader, u're deviant-watched
For rightclick, it's as nice as it sucks, can't use it for creating a new file, or use it elsewhere than on the desk.
Stardock=interesting tools, sometimes...
Don't thank me, it makes me glad to see your new deviations when I open DA.

ah yeah
ah yeah i know ;I
its kinda cool. but yeah it kinda sucks aswell
i like litestep better

StopDreaming In reply to invaderjohn [2008-08-18 14:46:12 +0000 UTC]
Guy, u're a fuckin' genius, that's an icon I had forgotten: Litestep!
I've never tryed it for the moment, still discovering customization day upon day.
Question: Which softwares do U use for making VS?
yep, stardock sucks a bit sometimes, my iconpackager is saying "no" to some new control panel icons when I pick a previously saved pack.
π: 0 β©: 1
invaderjohn In reply to StopDreaming [2008-08-18 14:50:02 +0000 UTC]
haha yeah its still a lil messy to get to work in vista tho.. need some ddls and what not.. and get some errors when u start-up windows.. but other than that it works just fine.. at least for me ^^ ive heard some ppl who didnt get it to work at all.
oh ok
i just use photoshop, alpha image converter, restorator, xvi32 and reshack sometimes
aah yeah i never got iconpackager to work in vista.. just fucked it all up :/
π: 0 β©: 1
StopDreaming In reply to invaderjohn [2008-08-18 15:08:11 +0000 UTC]
Lol for iconpackager, it has fucked with my head enough, now I don't touch it anymore.
For the softwares, that's exactly what I use (try to use would be more appropriated), except for Alpha Image Converter, I've found something which, to my mind, is better: [link] (I know it's in french on the website but the soft is in english per default).
I also use IcoFX & Paint.net (with a plugin for editing icons & png).
Thx again for all what you're doing with VS, it really rocks.

invaderjohn In reply to StopDreaming [2008-08-18 15:56:41 +0000 UTC]
haha yeah i know xD its sucks.
oh well thx for the tip.. even tho that was just for icons?
aplha image converter is used to convert images to aplha png so that they work for vista properly
whats icoFX?
thx alot bud ^^
π: 0 β©: 1
StopDreaming In reply to invaderjohn [2008-08-18 16:15:37 +0000 UTC]
I think that ToYcon can do this too! In the options, you can choose to make png for Vista.
I've also used it to convert massively ico to png (&ng to ico) when I was building the Albook Extended icon sets I've released yesterday!
You can preset the formats you want, and that's quite nice
*commercial mode on*
IcoFX ([link] ) is an excellent free icon editor, using alpha too, 256x256 32 bits, etc... it also can extract icons from files like dlls, edit macOSX or linux icon formats...
*commercial mode off*
*beggar mode on*
I've extracted icons from a .msstyles file for replacing them by the same converted to black & white, but when I tryed to apply the same VS without anything else changed, Franckie TuneUp said no, can't apply the VS, what can be wrong with that? :-s
π: 0 β©: 1
invaderjohn In reply to StopDreaming [2008-08-19 11:45:27 +0000 UTC]
hmmm maybe i dont think it can convert to proper alpha pngs ;O
cuz its kinda lot of work.. well first convert the png to bmp then override the png with the bmp in like photoshop with black background save and convert back to png ;I damn i want aves style builder NOW
oh ok ima check it out dude ^^ thx for the info.
hmm ok.. that sounds kinda weird
is it just the images?
from what vs?
its can be the variant that fucks up if it tweaked to work with just some images or the stream ;I

StopDreaming In reply to invaderjohn [2008-08-19 15:14:36 +0000 UTC]
You're giving me headaches with alpha png lol
You must be right, that's the kind of conversion I would make manually.
Lol Style builder's features: # Automatically converts 32 bitmap BMPs with alpha channels to PNGs so you can edit them properly.
This soft looks nice... even for 19.95 bucks
You're welcome for the info, you're giving me infos too, so, it's my turn to thank you
For the VS, it's your famous Transblack Final V1 (you'll never know how much I love it), with full black fonts everywhere and the original vista png files, it would be totally perfect (in fact it's close to my vision of the perfect VS)
I've only tryed to change the png files of "image", not touched the variant... It has never poised me problems with dlls, but with it... I don't know...
Maybe you're the tweaker lol
Anyways, thanks for your support, I've never met an antipathic swedish, does it exist?
π: 0 β©: 1
invaderjohn In reply to StopDreaming [2008-08-21 13:56:11 +0000 UTC]
haha yeah it gave me headaches in the beginning aswell xD
ah yeah theres alot of stuff u could do with it
like rly awesome stuff
its gonna make my life so much esier
oh ok :S sounds rly odd.
its shouldnt be like that as long as u just change images.
so i rly dont know dude ;I
antipathic? whats that?

StopDreaming In reply to invaderjohn [2008-08-21 18:10:45 +0000 UTC]
Antipathic: [link]
Example: Stressed parisians with tourists
For the VS, it's like overclocking, or girls: Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
Anyways, it's ok, I'm sure that one or two beers will solve the problem.

My compliments about CAD are not free, they're just sincere.
I'm sure you're spending a lot of time for making your skins? Trying to find the perfect visual solution

OtisBee In reply to StopDreaming [2008-08-16 12:45:37 +0000 UTC]
oh yes, a lot of time.
that's for sure.
in fact that can be easily forgotten when most people only see the final result.
that's why i'm very happy that you've been able to recognize all the efforts i made.
this kind of appreciation is really priceless and i can't thank you enough for that.
sincerely, of course.

You're right, sometimes, people come, take, and go away, that can be frustrating!
Although, even if they don't say it, it's easilly understood that there's a lot of work & personnal involvement behind some projects!
