What speed is you're CPU running at.

And i cannot help but think some of those fans are just resisting airflow with their matter and nothing else.

cpu... actually, I'm working at 3.6GHz 'cause my room is a real oven during summer, and I live in one of the hottest parts of the country.
But the regular frequency during the year is 4.080GHz (24/24 7/7, even if the gain is minor, it allows to gain few more degrees without having to sandpaper the cpu).
There's absolutely no problem with the airflow, both couples of fans working with the cpu are having a push-pull effect, and there's no over-pressure in the case (5x12cm fans aspiring the air in the front part, and 4x12cm+2x8cm fans blowing it out).
I still have to change some things, the bay with the 2x12cm fans blowing under the gpu is more a gadget than anything else, it's not improving performances as much as I expected, still having the same restults in the end).

It's funny you should mention the fans near the GPU because that was what I was referring too - apologise, i should have been more specific.

Every other fan appears to have its purpose - however the GPU setup (as you said) doesn't appear to be a system that would work effectively.

Nice OC there, I think 4GHz is a really good number with most high end CPU's. Stable but at the same time noticeable increase in performance.

is the cooler the Thermalright IFX-14? maybe want to buy that thingy

StopDreaming In reply to das-felix [2008-11-30 08:06:35 +0000 UTC]

Yep, it's the IFX-14 and there's definitely him and the others. It's refreshment capacity is stunning, but be carefull, this monster does not enter in all the cases and in all the motherboards (I had an Antec P182 case, Asus Crosshair mobo and it's was just adapted: 16.1cm high, and the backplate was close to the top).

well, obviously you're a fan of fans.

with so much wind power i suppose you can even dry your hair with it.

take a shower, put your head behind the computer and 12 seconds later you're done.

shite, I pressed enter before the end of the message...
so, I was saying:
I had an oven case two years ago and "burnt" a processor after a too heavy voltage for an overclocking.
My vice is that I love to put my hands inside cases, assembling comuters is a hobby that I enjoy a lot (with customisation!).
Pride for Germany and it's cheap hardware prices

Yep, I'm a fan fan
In fact, I don't use it for drying my hairs, just for keeping beers fresh enough lol.
I had an oven case two years ago and "burnt"

Stop dreaming buddy , there's an abyss between IFX-14 and ALL the other aircooling systems , even with one fan and without the backplate!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

maiev-shadowsong In reply to StopDreaming [2008-09-27 15:20:03 +0000 UTC]

i meen for vent nf-p12 instead od nf-s12

StopDreaming In reply to maiev-shadowsong [2008-09-27 15:25:25 +0000 UTC]

The three ones on the IFX are nf-p12, all the other 12cm fans are "old" nf-s12
