Growth Scene: Victory
Pigeon groaned, clawing at another rubbish smelling bag. They stunk, but the fact that she’d seen animals scavenging through them had to mean there was something to eat. Digging around a bit more, she found a crunchy piece of something she recognized from the scraps her captors used to throw her. As she clambered over the pile some more, she lost her footing and flopped down onto one of the bags.
She whimpered, lying in defeat there for a moment. A cool breeze blew past, and as she lifted her nose for a breath of less-stinky air, a little winged creature hopped close to where she was lying. Something desperate and feral clicked in the back of Pigeon’s mind, and without thinking she grabbed the feathery thing- almost missing from her awkward vantage point- her belly aching with anticipation. That weird, bony little creature was the best thing she had ever tasted…
