This piece was done as the PC cover to a game that i made up for class. It is of course based in the world of Warhammer 40k, a tabletop miniature wargame i play. Took about 9 hours maybe? All photoshop with an imported pencil sketch. This is the story of the game.

STORY:
Rumor has it that a chaotic relic has been found deep beneath one of the mighty fortresses of Tomaris III, and the Imperial Governor's strange silence on this important matter has merited a serious investigation by the Inquision. With the planet targeted, a fleet of Inquisitors has been dispatched from Terra, picking up regiments of soldiers that may be needed for garrison duty, and suppression, from the different systems it passes on the long journey.

You are an elite imperial storm trooper named Carrigan who is inducted into this inquisitorial purging. Summoned by the superior command of the Ordeo Maleus, you are pulled from your normal duties to carry out the will of Lord Inquisitor Gregarius, a known zealot in the Gothic sector.

However, once landed, you and your Troopers find that the horror of Inquisition is almost as terrible as the chaos spawn that you have been sent to fight. The wholesale slaughter of innocents in the name of the Ordeo Maleus does not sit right with you, and just as your anger is at an end, something terrible happens. The relic you were sent to retrieve isn’t chaos tainted at all, but aged beyond count. Locked and sealed, it seems to be a key…

The reckless imperial prying pays off, and as the ancient puzzle’s mystery is unlocked and the ancient tomb swings open to reveal its dark portents…

…Only death awaits.

The Necrons have come again. An ancient mechanical race has been awoken from their million-year dormancy to wreak havoc on all those who would appose their plans for intergalactic rule, and destroy all those who stand in their way.

As the Inquisition’s mad policy slaughters millions of innocent people and the Necron’s reemerge to plague humanity, you struggle to survive amidst treachery within your own ranks, and the fanatical beliefs of a powerful madman bent on sacrificing anything in the name of the Imperium, even if it means the destruction of humanity itself!
