Made partly for the Represent Your House Contest from ...and partly just to amuse myself.

I think I finally realized my last comic idea was a bit too ambitious. Too many characters to keep track of, and most of it was just going to reiterate the Hufflepuff welcome letter anyway. Too much build up for not enough payoff.

So I pulled back and refocused on my character, Hallow Chandler. Hallow from my username (it works...sorta?) and Chandler from my all-time favorite book character, Tris Chandler from Tamora Pierce's Circle of Magic series.

As far as the art is concerned, I'm aware it's pretty basic. I'm working with a freebie program (Paint.NET) and a regular mouse, so yes, the majority of each frame does repeat over and over. It still took the better part of 3 days to finish.

Style-wise, I took a lot of reference from The Legend of Korra's (and Avatar: The Last Airbender). Especially in the face; noses can really really suck sometimes. Also, I can't do hands to save my life, so unless I get super ambitious, her hands will be inside her sleeves. Maybe when she gets "older" (yes, she's supposed to be a first year here and yes, I know she doesn't look it) I'll let her get her hands out.

I hope this was a fun little intro to her and I hope to explore more with her in the future.

Backgrounds are from the Pottermore common rooms and the Great Hall. The wand and Hufflepuff badge/patch/crest were referenced from the corresponding Pottermore images. The floating books were referenced from a screenshot from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode one (found here [link] ).
