So it's no secret that I'm a Power Rangers fan. I've been getting kind of psyched about the newest installment of the Power Rangers franchise-- Power Rangers Jungle Fury. Which is probably not a good thing since I haven't really been all that pleased with the past few seasons...But anyway, Jungle Fury has sooo much potential. Not only is this going to be the first series to sport a Violet Ranger, but we could potentially see eight Rangers in this show!
The original Japanese series (Juken Sentai Gekiranger) featured five Rangers-- Red, Blue, Yellow, Violet and White. But three brand new Rangers made their way into American toy stores these past few months. The Green, Black and Sky Blue Rangers are all brand new and American-created. (I saw them in a local Target and was inspired to draw this piece-- the designs are fantastic!)
Whether or not these three new Rangers will see the light of day in the actual Jungle Fury series remains to be seen. But the potential is there, and that makes it kind of exciting. At least to me

I created my own fan made PR Team: PR Mythic Spirit
all members get their powers from a mythical animal/ creature and each have a weapon and power...however unlike regular PR they don't have zords, at least that is my thoughts so far.
Red Phoenix Ranger: Fire Bow and Flames
Green Tengu Ranger: Power Axe andΒ Super Strength
Blue Werewolf Ranger: Claws and Luna Energy
Yellow Ninetails Ranger: Daggers and Aura Reading
Pink Unicorn Ranger: Glaive andΒ Super Speed

Purple Dragon Ranger: Curved Sword and Wind
Cyan Mermaid Ranger: Wave Blades and Bubble Shield/ Breathe Underwater
Orange Griffin Ranger: Crossbow and Glowing Energy
Aqua Sprite Ranger: Cosmic Staff and Replicate

Star Angel Ranger: Long Sword and Speed Burst/ Energy Slashes (the Star Angel is the "special ranger" of the group like the Green/ White Ranger in the original).
nearly all of the people are from different parts of the world and different ethnic backgrounds, making for a very interesting team of co-operation.

This is one of my favorite seasons. I loved all of the Rangers ('specially RJ), the villains were cool (Jarred, Camille, Whiger), and Fran FTW! I didn't like the Spirit Rangers though.

yeah,i love the design of the 3 american-made rangers too.. you know,i've been wondering,saban's crew is not bad for creating costumes concept for ranger. then why saban never try to actually made their original ranger season?

It was the vest season out of the new ones, shouldn't the Spirit rangers be lighter?

If I may... the artist drew this when the first toys came out, and they were colored like the main five. New toys came out alongside the Jungle Master rangers, and had white where the original toys had black to follow the same style as the Jungle Master upgrades (but without the jets.) Since they were late additions to the show, they looked like those later toys, though there was of course no way for the artist to know that would happen. Merchandising, yay.
Which makes it really tough to get your hands on Spirit Ranger figures that look like the show version. There are a lot more of them out there in these colors than in the ones eventually used for the show. >_<
