This is a nice photo I like the back lighting, however it's a bit over exposed in some areas and underexposed in the foreground. You can fix the exposure issues in an editing program, be it GIMP or Photoshop; it's a fairly simple process. You may also consider increasing color saturation slightly.

The ISO for this particular photo is quite high, being at 800. I recommend using ISO 200 or lower next time you try shooting in similar situations. Doing this will cut down on noise in the photo. Also, try using D-Lighting on you camera. I'm not actually sure what it's called with Canon cameras, as I'm a Nikon girl, myself.

Overall, the photo is a nice attempt, just in need of some minor editing to correct some technical issues.
