(For the record: This is the reboot of Charas Story with updated images, layout and text)

About:
Chara commits suicide (again!) to protect her beloved family (from actually herself)
Of course someone could say: "Hey bitch, didn't you play the game?! What about the tapes?!"
Yeah, the tapes... After seeing them, you could easily adopt the facts in it, like: "Chara planned with Asriel to kill herself to free all the monsters, but Asriel kinda hesitated." But I think, what really here is important, is the TIME! I don't doubt the facts in the tapes, but none of the tapes stated exactly the time or the order of the events. So in my opinion, the situation with the conversation about freeing everyone happend a long time before she actually decided to kill herself with the buttercups. The conversation was just..a conversation. Something they spontaneously talked about, but didn't transplanted into action. Asriel didn't know the real reason why Chara killed herself and thinks, it's because of the conversation they had....
Gosh, am I even able to draw the next part?! I don't want to, but...I have no choice >.<

it's canon the tapes in True Lab r in order, so their "plan" was in fact a plan and one of the later tapes even has Asriel saying, while Chara was ill, he didnt like the plan anymore and didnt want them (or, in your interpretation, HER) to go through w/ it. still, i like your theory/interpretation too for the what-if-Chara-was-innocent (please no arguments; the canon is, though Chara wasnt evil and was just a troubled child w/ a [likely] abusive/neglectful lifestyle and/or dark upbringing, they were in fact the true antagonist of the game...unlike most antagonists, however, they r redeemable) type of scenario...it's more tragic and breaks my heart

i mean, it isnt exactly an AU because youre going by the game, just doing your own interpretation of it...so i suppose it's more of a theory/what-if kind of story rather than an AU where theres at least one thing altered from the game and your own personal flair. then again, idk if your "bipolar" Chara would be considered a personality change since we cant be sure of Chara's situation 100%.
